Burgos is a city of northern Spain, at the edge of the central plateau, with about 200,000 inhabitants in the city proper and another 15,000 in its suburbs.

Burgos was founded in 884 as an outpost of this expanding Christian frontier by Diego Porcelos .Already in the 10th century, Burgos turned into the capital of the county, and, later of the kingdom of Castile and Leon (1035).

In the shield of the city of the 14th century, the most typical features are synthesized as " Head of Castile ", " Royal Chamber " and " the first one in the voice and in the loyalty ".

BURGOS´CATHEDRAL

The Burgos Cathedral is a Gothic-style cathedral. It is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is famous for its vast size and unique architecture. Its construction began in 1221, following French Gothic parameters.
