NAAC-IIQA REVIEW MEETING

A meeting with the Heads of all Departments was convened by Principal Madam to

have a review on Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA)

documentation pertaining to NAAC.





A meeting was convened with the wardens and deputy wardens of the Hall of

Residence - Men by Principal Madam along with the Heads of departments. Review

about daily hostel affairs, enforcement of discipline in the hostel, roles of wardens and

fruitful study hours were the lines of pointers in today‟s meeting.

CIVIL – HOME COMING ACCLAMATIONS!

Principal Madam congratulated Mr.M.Sathasivam and Ms.CU.Lavanya of Final year Civil

Engineering for bagging the First prize in Talent Search quiz Competition 2019

conducted by COCENA(Coimbatore Civil Engineers Association) along with a Cash award

of Rs.15,000. Our Principal Madam congratulated the Prize winners as this is the Second

consecutive time we have won this prize. Out of the 40 engineering college teams which

had participated, SKCET CIVIL TEAM has won this laurel for the second consecutive time.





MECH - GUEST LECTURE ON METAL CUTTING

Indian Institute of Foundrymen, SKCET Chapter organized a Guest Lecture on „Metal

Cutting – History and Principles‟. Mr.K.M.Kumaran, General Manager, Komet

Precision tools India Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru was the chief guest of the event. He

enlightened the students on the different cutting tool technologies in existing

industrial practice and discussed on the principles and properties of cutting tool

materials and fundamental processes on metal cutting.





CIVIL - HOME COMING ACCLAMATIONS!

Principal Madam appreciated the sincere efforts of Mr.R.Shankar and

Mr.S.Santhosh Kumar of Third year Civil Engineering students who have won the

First prize in Technical Quiz, Second prize in Technical connection and Third

prize in Paper presentation in the National Level Technical symposium EMICA 2K19

held at Tamilnadu College of Engineering, Coimbatore.

“Spoken Tutorial Test on JAVA” was conducted for II CSE students. It is an initiative

of National mission on Education through ICT, MHRD to promote IT Literacy. The

students actively attempted the online assessment during the post tutorial sessions.

Department of ECE organized a Guest Lecture on “Emerging Trends and Challenges

in Electronics and Telecommunications” for II year ECE students. Mr. A. G.

Aneesh Kumar, Core Engineer, Switch Operations, Ericsson India Ltd.,

Coimbatore gave an insight on „Recent trends in AI, Software defined Networking and

Green Communication‟.

The Association of Mechanical Engineering Department organised a Guest lecture on

“Stress and Strain Analysis on Mechanical Structures". Mr.Puspharaj from L&T

was the chief guest. He discussed about the importance of Stress and Strain Analysis

of Mechanical Structures and Design of Off-road vehicle components by considering

the real time stress and strain.

topic „An Insight into Deep Learning with Images‟ at MCA Seminar Hall. The seminar
