ONLINE TESTING

PILOT DETAILS AND SCOPE

• 6 BYU IS courses have online exams • 1-5 exams per course• 169 students total

• We will administer 441 online exams this semester • We administered 148 in Sept-Oct 2013• 169 exams will likely be during Finals week

WHY

• Benefits from Online Testing:• Added convenience for all students• Added student base (don’t need to be near testing

center)• Possibly decrease cheating• Decrease costs • No printing or mailing test packets• No scantrons or scantron reading machines• No building costs• Students don’t have to pay to use other testing centers

HOW

• Using our testing software we can:• view the student via webcam • control the student’s screen• view the student’s screen• record

SO WHAT

• We have experienced some technical difficulties• Every issue is new/different• They pop up while students are waiting to take exams
