MESSAGE
Welcome all players, officials, supporters, volunteers and spectators to the SoftballQueensland 2020 Under 16 Boys’ State Championship at Hervey Bay. This championship is one of the first steps of representation and provides participants withan opportunity to experience the next level of competition in softball while establishing newfriendships that will last throughout your representative years, and hopefully beyond.
Congratulations to the players on your selection in your District Association team. It is anhonour that you have earned, so wear your uniform with pride and represent yourAssociation with dignity. Softball Queensland has a tradition of strong performance in National Championships and2019/20 with Queensland outperforming other States, to be crowned National Champions.
These great results prove that with hard work and dedication, any softballer can build ontheir performance to go from a District Association player to a Queensland State teammember competing at a high level at an Australian Championship. Thank you to the umpires, coaches, managers and scorers for your continuing efforts insupporting the players in your team and giving up your time to ensure this championship is asuccess.
My thanks also to Hervey Bay Softball Association and its many volunteers who help makethe State Championships an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Without these dedicatedpeople events such as this wouldn’t happen. To the families and supporters who have come to cheer on the teams, thank you for yourinvolvement: you are helping to ensure the long-term future of our sport.

A big thank you to our hard working volunteers in the lead up to the event and of course
over the 3 days of the tournament. Thank you to SQI for allowing us to host this
Championships.
2020 has been a particularly difficult year for a lot of people because of COVID-19 so a
big thank you must go to parents for making the effort to attend this event.

making new one’s.
