Chapter 2 - Lesson 3: How Do Fish, Frogs, and Mammals Grow?
Study Guide
Vocabulary:

2. gills - the parts of fish and tadpoles that are used to take
in oxygen from water.
3. tadpole - a very young frog or toad.
Main Ideas:
· Frogs are amphibians. Most amphibians live part of their lives in
water and part on land.
· The life cycle of a frog has the following stages: egg, young
tadpole, older tadpole, adult frog.
· A mammal is characterized by fur or hair and milk-producing
mammary glands. Mammals also have a backbone and lungs.
· Mammal babies stay with one or both of their parents for a period of
time that ranges from a few months to many years.
· Mammal babies begin as eggs.
· Different kinds of mammals have different life cycles. The typical
mammal life cycle includes egg, embryo, baby, young animal and
