TRANSCRIPT

Anyone who has been in the calibration business for as long as we have, know that experience is priceless. Time has a way of teaching you what works and what doesn’t. These days we are required to produce quality products and service at cost effective prices. The challenge is HOW do we achieve this? As South African companies are being exposed to the offshore market more and more, we are forced to be competitive. All our calibrations are done on-site with our expansive, mobile calibration kit, which enables us to offer the client the least down time in production.

WELCOME

ABOUT US

Years of experience in calibration, supply and repairs have resulted in us acquiring not only the SOLUTION TO OFFSHORE CALIBRATION, but also the experience to offer the complete calibration package. In order to service our clients locally, we partnered with Globtech Pty Ltd for all our local calibration requirements. We specialize in a broad scope of testing and calibration, which includes but are not limited to PRESSURE, TEMPERATURE, ELECTRICAL, GAS DETECTION & PRV TESTING. We offer a team of 2 technicians, fully trained with 25 years combined experience in calibration. We work strictly according to ISO17025, API576 & API598. Any defect gauges, PRV’s or gas detectors can be repaired, or alternatively replaced through our team on-board. All equipment calibrated or supplied will receive a calibration certificate and label. In the case of PRV’s, an aluminium seal will be affixed with a unique tracking number. Upon completion, a calibration file will be supplied with all necessary documentation, certificates & registers of work completed. “All Safety systems depend on the reliability of the equipment used.”

SERVICES: GAS DETECTION

All gas detectors must be calibrated bi-annually. Between the two form factors of gas detectors, portables must be calibrated more frequently due to the regular changes in environment they experience. A typical calibration schedule for a fixed system may be bi-annually or, annually with more robust units. A typical calibration schedule for a portable gas detector is a daily “bump test” accompanied by a bi-annual calibration. Almost every portable gas detector requires a specific calibration gas, spare part or filter which is available from our team on request.

SERVICES: PRESSURE & RELIEF VALVES

Pressure Gauges and Relief Valves are crucial components of most processing systems. On offshore installations, a pressure gauge needs to be reliable, accurate and easy to read to help prevent failure in everyday operations. Relief Valves (PRV’s) are designed to protect a pressurized vessel or system during an overpressure event. Therefore, how a gauge and Relief Valve are constructed and tested is extremely important for reliability, safety and peace-of-mind. After all, failures can cost time, money and productivity loss. Due to the volatile nature some of these sources can cause, Pressure Gauges and Pressure Relief Valves can fail for a multitude of reasons, therefore it must be calibrated annually .

SERVICES: REPAIR & SUPPLY

We try our best to firstly repair faulty instruments, and can supply a wide variety of instrumentation and replacement parts well known in the oil & gas industry. We do supply calibration kits upon request to perform a specific function in the field of Metrology. All prices are available on request; alternatively you can speak to our team on-board regarding price and availability. SERVICES: TEMPERATURE & ELECTRICAL

Temperature refers to the calibration of any device used in a system that measures temperature. Most importantly, this usually means the temperature sensor, itself, which is typically a platinum resistance thermometer (PRT or PT-100), thermocouple or the indicator; also known as the controller. In addition to temperature, we do electrical calibration. Every Electronics Team offshore requires their process meters and multimeters to be certified on an annual basis.

STAFFING SOLUTIONS

We offer a range of testing services to the offshore industry including staffing solutions. We have a range of fully trained technical staff at our disposal for offshore & onshore purposes. All our staff have more than 8 years field experience in the field of Metrology and are available with equipment as an optional extra. Popular positions we cover: • PSV Technician • Calibration Technician • Instrument Fitter
