To unscrew the crown:1. Turn it counterclockwise until tight.2. Then you can wind the mainspringor pull crown out for time/calendarsetting (Pos. “b”) or pull alarm crownout (Cal. 2612) for alarm time setting/beep noise interrupting (Pos. “2”).

To screw in the crown:1. Return the crown in Pos. “a”, oralarm crown (Cal.2612) in Pos “1”. 2. Turn crown clockwise while press-ing it lightly until tight.

HOW TO OPERATE THE SCREW IN LOCK TYPE CROWN

(for models with screw in lock type crown)

• Turning the crown clockwise in thePos. “a” wind up to the stop themainspring of the watch.

• It can be allowed to wind the watchturning the crown counterclockwiseand clockwise alternatively.

• Do not apply excessive strains to thecrown, it can result in a breakage ofthe winding device or the mainspring.

• Turning the alarm crown clockwisein the Pos. “1” wind up to the stopthe mainspring of the alarm.

• It can be allowed to wind the alarmturning the crown counterclockwiseand clockwise alternatively.

• Do not press the alarm crown with allyuor might, it can result in a breakageof the winding device or the main-spring.

1. Pull out the crown in Pos. “b”,turning it counterclockwise (hour andminute hands will turn clockwise) sethands to the desired time.

2. Return the crown in Pos. “a”.

ALARM TIME SETTING (cal.2612)

1. Pull out alarm crown in Pos. “2”,turning it counterclockwise (alarm

hand turns counterclockwise) set thedesired alarm time.

2. Return the crown in Pos. “1”.

BEEP NOISE INTERRUPTING• beep noise rings ~ 10 seconds; • pull out the alarm crown in Pos. “2”to interrupt beep noise.

1. Pull out the crown in Pos. “b”, turn-ing it clockwise, turn hands until theday of week hand points to the desiredday name. Continuing turning thecrown set hands to the desired time.

Note:When setting the hour hand,check by the position of 24-hourhand that AM/PM is correctlyset. The watch is so designedthat the day of week changesonce in 24 hours.

the date happens instantly at mid-night ±5min).

Note:• When setting the hour hand, checkthat AM/PM is correctly set. Thewatch is so designed that the datechanges once in 24 hours. Turn thehands past the 12 o’clock marker todetermine whether the watch is setfor the A.M. or P.M. period. If the dateis changed, the time is set for the A.M.period. If the date is not changed, thetime is set for the P.M. period.

ATTENTION!• It is necessary to correct the datemanually (Cal. 2614, Cal. 26663) bythe fast method or by setting hands atthe end of February and all short (30days) months.• If it is necessary to correct date inCal. 26669, fulfil the fast correctiononly as at 3 item. Otherwise, the dayof week can change too.

The revolving World time scale on thedial unables you to find the time of 24cities in different time zones through-out the world.

1. Turning the crown “C” clockwiseor counterclockwise set the name ofthe city with the local time in front ofthe hour hand arrow.

2. Current hour in the desired city willindicate opposite its name or thename of the city which is at the sametime zone.

Note: Cities of the 12 time zones east-erly GMT are at the external scale.Cities of the 12 time zones westerlyGMT are at the internal scale. The timeof day of cities at the external scale isin opposition the time of day of citiesat the internal scale.

Ex.:1. You are in Moscow. The local timeof Moscow is 4 : 37 P. M. Set thename of the city – Moscow in front ofthe hour hand arrow. Current hour inthe desired city is read opposite itsname or the name of the city which isat the same time zone.

1. You can measure time intervals up to12 hours in 15 minutes increase by the“soundless” timer “A” and time inter-vals up to 60 minutes in 1 minuteincrease by the “soundless” timer “B”.

2. Turn the rotating scale by thecrown “C” clockwise or counterclock-wise to align its “ ” mark with thehour hand for the timer “A” or minutehand for the timer “B”.

3. When the hour hand (minute handfor the timer “B”) points to the num-ber of the desired interval fulfil thenecessary operation.

Ex. :• Now it is 10 : 37 A.M., you mustleave the conference in 1h 45min tobe at the airport in time. Align “ ”mark with the hour hand and leave theconference when the hour handpoints to 1 : 45 at the timer scale.• You were given 15 minutes for yourspeech. Begining it at 4 : 37 P. M. youalign “ ” mark with the minute handand you must finish your speechwhen the minute hand points to “15”at the timer scale.

WATER RESISTANCE• Non- water resistanceIf “WATER RESISTANT” is not inscribedon the case back, your watch is not waterresistant, and care should be taken not toget wet as water may damage the move-ment. If the watch become wet, we sug-gest that you have it checked by theAUTHORIZED POLJOT DEALER or SER-VICE CENTER.

• Water resistance (3 bar)If “WATER RESISTANT” is inscribed onthe case back, your watch is designedand manufactured to withstand up to 3bar, such as accidental contact withsplashes of water or rain, but it is notdesigned for swimming or diving.• Water resistance (5 bar)If “WATER RESISTANT 5 bar” is inscribedon the case back, your watch is designedand manufactured to withstand up to 5bar and is suitable for swimming, yacht-ing and taking a shower.

TO PRESERVE THE QUALITY OF YOUR WATCH

• Water resistance (10 bar/15 bar)If “WATER RESISTANT 10 bar” or“WATER RESISTANT 15 bar” is inscribedon the case back, your watch is designedand manufactured to withstand upto10/15 bar and is suitable for taking thebath and shallow water diving, but notfor deep water diving. We recommendthat you wear a special Diver’s watch fordeep water diving.• Before using the water resistance 5, 10,or 15 bar watch in water, be sure thecrown is pushed in completely.

• Do not operate the crowns when thewatch is wet or in water.• If used in sea water, rinse the watch infresh water and dry it completely.• When taking the shower with the waterresistance 5 bar watch, or taking the baththe water resistanse 10 or 15 bar watch,be sure to observe the following:• Do not operate the crowns when thewatch is wet with soapy water orshampoo.• If the watch is left in warm water, aslight time loss or gain may be caused.

This condition, however, will be correct-ed when the watch returns to normaltemperature.

Note: Pressure in bar is a test pressureand should not be considered as corre-sponding to actual diving depth sinceswimming movement tends to increasethe pressure at a given depth. Careshould also be taken on diving into water.

MAGNETISMYour watch will be adversely affectedby strong magnetism. Keep awayfrom close contact with magneticobjects.

SHOCK & VIBRATIONLight activities will not affect yourwatch, but be careful not to drop yourwatch or hit it against hard surface, asthis may cause damage.

CHAMICALSBe careful not to expose the watch tosolvents (e.g., alcohol and gasoline),mercury(i.e. from the broken ther-mometer), cosmetic spray, deter-gents, adhesives or paints. Otherwise,the case, bracelet etc. may becomediscolored, deteriorated or damaged.

CARE OF CASE AND BRACELETTo prevent possible rusting of thecase and bracelet caused by dust,moisture and perspiration, wipe themperiodically with the soft dry cloth.

PRECAUTION RECARDING CASEBACK PROTECTIVE FILMIf your watch has a protective and/or asticker on the case back, be sure topeel them off before using yourwatch. Otherwise, perspiration gettingin under them may rust the case back.

PERIODIC CHECKIt is recommended that the watch bechecked once every 2 to 3 years. Haveyour watch checked by an AUTHORIZEDPOLJOT DEALER or SERVICE CENTER toensure that the case, crowns, buttons,gaskets and crystal sealing remain intact.

Within Guarantee period regulation,adjustment, repair or replacement ofparts or movement will be performedwithout charge except in the case ofdamage caused by accidents or lackof care.
