Monthly Report January 2019
The school was on winter vacation from December 31, 2018 to January 6, 2019.
A. Events within the School
On January 25, Republic Day was celebrated in school. The field event was along
the lines of the Delhi Republic Day parade. It started with the hoisting of the
National Flag by Mr. Vikram Roy and the National Anthem being sung by all in
attendance. Class V along with a teacher’s contingent, recreated the magic of
Rajpath by doing the march past. It was followed by a melodious prayer - Jai Jan
Bharat sung by the school choir. Then we had some well synchronized drills and
power-packed displays of dumbbells and taekwondo. Later, students of classes IV
and V sang THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND and other patriotic songs. The
celebrations ended with all the participants enthusiastically cheering and singing
Saare Jaahan Se Accha.
B. Outings
Students of class II went to the Rail Museum, which has a fascinating collection of
over 100 real-size exhibits of the trains. The students had a good time looking at
models and also enjoyed the ride on the toy train.
Students of class 1 went for a trip to the Zoo. The children had a lot of fun watching
the giraffes, tigers, snakes, alligators and many exotic birds.
C. Academic and Co-Curricular Work
The Book of the Month Quiz, on Anushka Ravishankar's
book, Ghosts Don't Eat, was held in the library on 16th of
January, 2019. 98 children of Grades 5 A, B and C
participated in the quiz. 21 children were given
appreciation slips.
The bookmark making event was organized in the library for classes 4 & 5 in their
library periods in the last week of January. The children expressed themselves
brilliantly through words and art.
D. Miscellaneous
The process for nursery admissions started from December 15 and commenced
on January 7, 2019. (The admissions for the 30 EWS seats are being handled by the
Directorate of Education.)
