Washington Madison Baptist

Association We are looking forward to a great

ROCK Camp this summer!

Plans are underway, COVID-19 precautions being taken.

Please begin to talk with your children and students about summer camp.

Camp is always a highlight of our association because of 2 things:

1. We get to see young people come to Christ as new believers.

2. Discipleship taking place with those who know the Lord!

ROCK Camp takes place at Baptist Vista Campsite in Cass, Arkansas

Camp Policies:

Concerning Fighting / Bullying – Physical / verbal fighting and/or bullying will not be tolerated. First offense will receive a warning from the Camp Director, and a possible call to the parent(s). Second offense will result in sending the camper home by either the parent coming to get the camper or the group leader for the camper taking the camper home, at the parent’s expense. Any camper sent home, or one who decides to go home, will not receive a refund for camp fees.

Concerning Homesickness – We encourage the campers to get involved in camp. However, occasionally, the camper gets homesick and persists in calling home. Campers will be allowed to call home only under the Camp Director’s supervision. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to persuade their camper to stay the full time. Campers are often more homesick after they have spoken to their parent, so we ask that unless it is an emergency, please do not call your camper, nor ask the camper to call you.

Concerning Sickness or Injury – In the event your camper becomes sick or injured, either the Camp Nurse or the Camp Director will call you to inform you of the situation.

Concerning Leaving Camp Early – If, for some reason, a camper needs to leave camp early, he/she must have a signed letter from his/her parent/guardian and the Camp Director must be notified.

Concerning What Not to Bring – Cell phones (will be collected by Camp Director at beginning of week and returned at end), any electronic games or music devices, tobacco products, alcohol, guns, knives, fireworks, books (other than Bible), shaving cream, or immodest clothing. If you have a question concerning any of these, ask your Camp Director.

Camp Guidelines:

All campers are under the supervision of the Camp Director, senior staff, and counselors.

Campers must stay in the camp boundaries unless given permission otherwise by one of the persons listed above.

Staff housing is off limits to campers. No one is to be in the swimming pool area

without permission and supervision. All campers are required to follow the entire

camp schedule unless excused by the Camp Director. If you are injured or sick, report to the Camp Nurse.

Campers are not allowed around or in the cabins or bathrooms of the opposite gender.

No food, candy, or drinks are allowed in the tabernacles or pool area.

Trash is to be put in designated containers. Please help keep the camp clean!

All campers are expected to be in their cabins from Lights Out until Rise ‘n Shine. Lights and noise are not permitted after Lights Out.

Cell phones need to be given to the Camp Director at start of camp and collected at end of camp. Any calls must be authorized by Camp Director.

Clothing must be modest - no sleeveless shirts or tank tops (boys), bare midriff or low-cut tops (girls), questionable imprints, or short shorts. Shorts length: not shorter than half-way between lower hip (crotch) and knee. If questionable, wear spandex underneath shorts. For advice on any of these, ask Camp Director/Coordinator.

Footwear must be worn at all times. Swimsuits for girls should be one piece

and for guys, no skimpy suits (follow the shorts rule). A shirt & shoes/flops should be worn to and from the pool area.

Only take food you will eat & keep dining hall tidy. No food fights!

Campers must not disturb plant nor animal life around camp.

Campers are not allowed in the river. Campers are not allowed across the

road without permission of counselor. See Camp Policies for items not

permitted at camp. Camp Staff are fully authorized and

empowered to search any person or luggage and confiscate banned or illegal items.

What to Bring to Camp:

Bible, pen, notebook Personal water bottle Sleeping bag or sheets & blanket, pillow Clothes for 4 or 5 days Modest swim wear & towel (see Rules) Sports shoes, which enclose feet Sunscreen & mosquito spray Sandals/flops/water shoes for pool area Personal toiletries, towels Medications - to be turned in to Nurse Spending money for Snack Shack Flashlight, umbrella if desired Great attitude!

NO Visitors at Camp: Please do not visit the camp. When family or friends come to visit in the middle of the week, it only disrupts the relational bonds being built among the campers during the week. If your camper needs you, we will call you.
