TABLE OFCONTENTS

VERTEQUIPVertequip is a company that develops equipment, machinery and services that improve the safety, performance and productivity of works at heights. All of our solutions, like the different S.T.E.P models and accessories, solve real problems already addressed by other companies specialized in this line of work, with our innovative technology. Our goal is to significantly improve safety and productivity levels, while simultaneously reducing the final costs of projects. Critical to the Vertequip strategy of constantly developing new solutions and improve the safety of works at heights, we have created the S.T.E.P. ACADEMY. This program is designed to educate, train and certify individuals including handicapped and amputees using the S.T.E.P. systems to execute works at heights with the maximum safety, while using tested and more efficient processes and practices.CONSTRUCTION

The S.T.E.P. acronym means: Sys-tem of Translation and Elevation of People. S.T.E.P. is a system de-signed to move people on vertical surfaces, with vertical, diagonal and horizontal movements. S.T.E.P. is a complex system compris-ing of six different mechanisms, which together make it possible to move people along a structure and allow them to work with maximum safety and performance. S.T.E.P. has 13 applications for operation addressing many different and

unique working conditions. What makes S.T.E.P. a unique System is the simple and practical way it allows workers, including handi-capped and amputates to perform works at heights more safely and efficiently. The system uses only one harness, moving workers both horizontally and vertically, while controlling everything through a remote control. S.T.E.P is ad-equate for any type of structure, whether it is a building, bridge, silo, wind tower or even an oil rig.

The Translation System TS controls the horizontal movement and can be used with or without the Zeppelin hoist. The S.T.E.P. ROPE does not use the Zeppelin hoist. Therefore the remote control only allows the control of horizontal movements. The vertical movement is controlled

by use of ropes. When the Translation System (TS) is used with the Elevation System (Zeppelin) the remote control allows 4 movements, (up, down, left and right) making possible to move and work at any point of the vertical structure.

The value that our company brings to the community is for us a key factor for the success of the projects of VERTEQUIP. We believe that corporate so-cial responsibility is essential in promoting equal opportu-nities and a positive attitude towards the employability of

people with disabilities. The S.T.E.P. was not developed spe-cifically for the handicapped worker, but it was designed to change the world of vertical works and to do something that was never done before. In fact, it doesn’t really matter. Good ideas are just like that –

they change the world without notice. The important thing is that with S.T.E.P., handicapped workers can work in places we had never imagined before, like industry, construction, wind towers, dams or maintaining and inspecting bridges and much more!

A NEW ERA BEGINS

Our solution provides the following benefits:

Our dual backup system and the auto-rescue system, increases the safty levels of works at heights. With a safety factor of 6 S.T.E.P is designed to resist loads of 6x its maximum capacity.

Safer

making disabled and advanced aged individuals, able to work with this kind of equipment and therefore, to do work that only phisical skiled people was able to do until now.

Social inclusiveness

Costs of cleaning and maintenance works are reduced up to 40%. S.T.E.P. uses less workers while being faster at each task.

Faster and more productive

The S.T.E.P. proposal goes beyond tight and specific solutions for each sector. The S.T.E.P. proposal is global and technological evolved. The possibility of reaching any part of a tower, a building, a bridge or even a wind tower with only a harness and a remote control is something that looks easy but in reality is something extremely

innovative in the world of vertical and height works. It changes not only the way of working but also the safety and productivity levels of every company. The dual security system and the auto-rescue system places S.T.E.P. way ahead of traditional methods – even the one that was gradually becoming a global reference: the rappel mode.

ApPlications of S.t.e.p.

At this moment S.T.E.P. has 13 different applications to help you to perform works at heights in any type of vertical needs.

The CE marking is essential for all Vertequip products. It states that the product is as-sessed before being placed on the market and meets all the EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements.

Every S.T.E.P Model has a safety factor of 6/10. It means that it supports 6/10 times more than defined as the limit of al-lowed load. Each component of S.T.E.P. was designed to last a lifetime, as a result of a re-stricted policy of quality and safety requirement as the basic principle in the development and manufacture of all our products.

We respect the American rules ANSI /ISO 12100 - Safety of ma-chinery: General Requirements and Risk Assessment (this rule is equivalent to EN ISO 12 100: 2010) which is already men-tioned in our statement of com-pliance, and ANSI / NFPA 79: 2007 - Electrical Standard for In-dustrial Machinery equivalent to IEC EN 60204-1.

S.T.E.P is the only patented system, in the world, which al-lows people to perform works at heights, moving them hori-zontally and vertically with only one harness, while controlling everything with a remote con-trol. Although the S.T.E.P has several different applications to lift and move has 13 differ-ent models of systems to lift and move people in heights, many of the innovations we de-velop are shared between the various solutions. This result-ed in the development of three different patents that give com-plete exclusivity to Vertequip, in the creation and development of systems to lift people using only one harness.

Our patent is protected world-wide and took about three years to be achieved, due to the com-plexity of the studies needed to ensure the complete safety of the users.

S.t.e.P. AcAdeMY

As part of Vertequip’ strategy of creating the most innovative so-lutions, equipment and services, we created the S.T.E.P. ACADEMY. This is a school that educates, trains and certifies all individuals in order to allow them to execute works with S.T.E.P., in total safety while using best-in-class tech-niques and processes.

S.T.E.P. ACADEMY is not an in-dustrial rope access course, it is much more. It instructs individu-als on how to best work safely and efficiently in any kind of work situation at heights.

S.T.E.P. has several different ap-plications that can be used in a large range of tasks, includ-ing stage and theatre rigging, window cleaning, wind turbines, blade cleaning, construction and maintenance. All these situations are included in the course.

Vertequip developed its own equipment to perform anchorage tests in order to maximize safe-ty levels. Each of the anchorage points is individually tested with a device named TESTER, which is periodically calibrated and veri-fied. TESTER is an unique and sim-ple equipment that helps testing the installation and guarantees that it is done according to the safety proce-dures. The Static Test is extremely important to complete the instal-lation of the S.T.E.P, because it is through this process that its safety and efficacy are guaranteed. This is

the last step of the procedure, per-formed after the fixation. The pin used in the fixation has 12/16 mm of diameter, with the model Triga, by Tecofix.

The Static Test should be done with a tension of 1.500 kgf (more than the required by the standard), within 30 seconds, with losses of stability of 0%, and always in the presence of the responsible worker manag-ing the installation. If it fails the test, the fixation should be done in the nearest point available and tested once again until success.
