DESCRIPTION

Our viewbook is an excellent source of information on Catawba and provides an understanding of what Catawba — as an institution, as a community and as the individuals who make the college what it is — strives for. This is a great "beginner" in getting to know what Catawba is all about.

“It’s practically impossible to fall through the cracks at Catawba.

College life, no matter where you go, is largely what you make of it,

but here you are given some of the best opportunities to make your education something truly

unique and memorable.”

“One of my favorite things to tell people about Catawba is that you can’t cross campus quickly. Theoretically, you get from one beautiful end to the other in just 10 minutes. But in reality, it takes a lot longer because you run into so many people you know and who know you.

Combining traditional liberal arts with professional programs in a supportive environment, Catawba offers the best of what you can expect to find at a larger university within a personalized setting.”

BRIEN LEWIS, President of Catawba College

WE DO EMPOWERMENT.

Incoming freshmen often have two main concerns:

1. Will I make friends? 2. Will I succeed in college classes?

Our First-Year Experience (FYE) program makes sure the answer to these questions is YES!

At Catawba you can discover who you truly want to be. This starts early with the Freshman Retreat where incoming students get to know one another, meet faculty and begin developing into successful college students.

You’ll also participate in an FYE seminar course teaching you college survival skills and supporting your college transition.

WE DO INDIVIDUALIZED LEARNING.

Whether you’re interested in accounting or worship arts, athletic training or popular music, environmental studies or sports communication, Catawba develops your critical thinking and communication skills while preparing you for life after college.

WE DOPREPARATION.
