From Sister Revelina Santiago, Pastoral Associate Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, “Hold fast to the hope that lies before us. This we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm.” Hebrews 6:18-19 It is with great joy that I would like to share with you that our Parish Respect Life Ministry has been preparing for the forthcoming celebration of the Respect Life Month. From the Action Guide of the USCCB Prolife office, it says: “Each October the Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month, and the first Sunday of October is observed as Respect Life Sunday. As Catholics, we are called to cherish, defend, and protect those who are most vulnerable, from the beginning of life to its end, and at every point in between. During the month of October, the Church asks us to reflect more deeply on the dignity of every human life.” The Respect Life Ministry is essentially comprised of the efforts of leaders throughout the Church including our own Parish — our pastor, Fr David Arcila and the Parish Respect Life Ministry (PRLM) Team which is headed by its Core Team: Margie Pelinski, Deacon Conrad Wojnar, Rosemary Thomas and I. Together with all our PRLM members, we would like to invite you to participate in the different activities planned for this coming month of October. There will be a “Life Begins” display at the vestibule of the Church throughout this month. This display will show us the life-like representation of an unborn baby from 7 weeks to 30 weeks. We also are about to conclude the Spiritual Adoption program which we launched through our Oath taking rite that happened during the Masses on the weekend of February 2 and 3 of this year. Hence, during this month of October, we encourage our adoptive parents and parishioners to donate Baby Shower gifts on behalf of our spiritually adoptive children. All these gifts will benefit the Women’s Center, Chicagoland. The last day for this campaign will be on our due date celebration, the end of the 9th month of conception of the spiritually adopted children. It will be on October 26 and 27, 2019. Although due to the monthly birthday blessings that we have, our spiritually adoptive parents will be blessed as a recognition of their participation, on the preceding weekend, October 19 and 20. Parishioners are invited to join us for cake and coffee in each weekend of this Respect Life month to celebrate the birth of the children we spiritually adopted. We encourage you to continue deepening this journey as we publish in the next bulletin a Reflection Guide on this Respect Life Month’s theme – “CHRIST OUR HOPE: in every Season of Life.”

estado preparando para la próxima celebración del Mes de Respeto a la Vida. De la Guía de Acción de la oficina de Prolife
de USCCB, dice: “Cada octubre, la Iglesia en los Estados Unidos celebra el Mes
de Respeto a la Vida, y el primer domingo de octubre se observa como el Domingo de Respeto a la Vida.
Como católicos, estamos llamados a apreciar, defender y proteger a los que son más vulnerables,
desde el comienzo de la vida hasta el final, y en cada punto intermedio. Durante el mes de octubre,
la Iglesia nos pide que reflexionemos más profundamente sobre la dignidad de cada vida
humana ". El Ministerio de Respeto a la Vida se compone
esencialmente de los esfuerzos de los líderes de toda la Iglesia, incluida nuestra propia parroquia:
nuestro pastor, el Padre David Arcila y el Equipo del Ministerio de Respeto a la Vida Parroquial (PRLM), que está encabezado
por su Equipo Central: Margie Pelinski, Diácono Conrad Wojnar , Rosemary Thomas y yo. Junto con todos nuestros

la fecha de vencimiento, el final del noveno mes de la concepción de estos niños espiritualmente adoptados. Será el
26 y 27 de octubre de 2019. Aunque debido a las bendiciones mensuales de cumpleaños
que tenemos, nuestros padres espiritualmente adoptivos serán bendecidos como un reconocimiento de su
participación, el fin de semana anterior, 19 y 20 de octubre. Los feligreses están invitados a unirse a nosotros para pastel y
café en cada uno de los fines de semana. de este mes de Respeto a la Vida para celebrar el nacimiento de los niños que
adoptamos espiritualmente. Lo alentamos a que continúe profundizando este viaje
mientras publicamos en el próximo boletín una Guía de reflexión sobre el tema del Mes del Respeto a la Vida: "CRISTO
NUESTRA ESPERANZA: en cada temporada de la Vida.”
