How Many Immigration Sessions?
• Main Orientation program Fall and Spring• Two late orientation sessions• One special IEP session• One on one orientations
Format of Immigration Session
• Fs and Js are separated out for the immigration session.
• PowerPoint presentation is used with references to International Student Handbook
• Question period
Proof of Attendance
• Students sign a purple acknowledgement form after immigration portion which is then put in student file, not handed out until immigration session is over.
• Students who come in late will need to make up the immigration session
• Holds are put on students who did not attend, these holds prevent students from registering for the following semester –very effective
• Notes in physical files
