Communications: Carson Sor- by and Brady Weisenberger from Farmer’s Union Insurance gave a presentation of services they could provide the School District. These services would make it more cost ef- fective for the District and easier for the employees with a service mod- el. No current services provided would be lost. They would manage those services for the District and employees. The Board received a thank you from Josh and Pam Kri- varchka for the Foundation dona- tion in honor of Pam’s father. Administrators’ Reports: Science Committee Report - Kathy Rueger and Alison Podhrad- sky presented the new Elementary science curriculum proposal to the Board. The current science curricu- lum is nine years old, is not labora- tory based and does not incorpo- rate technology. Lab Learner, Foss Science and Amplify Science were the three curriculums researched by the Science Committee. Lab Learner is the curriculum of choice. The estimate for the curriculum/ site license, laboratory equipment, laboratory furnishings, scientific supplies and professional develop- ment is $42,000 and the workbooks are $10,000. The workbooks would be an annual expense. Managing the laboratory room was discussed with scheduling. The quote is good for six months from Lab Learner. Superintendent’s Report- Daren Christianson reviewed his report with the Board adding that he is sending out legislative updates weekly, is a guest reader in 14 classrooms at the Elementary on Wednesdays, is still waiting to hear back from CTS and has a gentleman form Consolidated Construction coming in to visit tomorrow. MS/HS Principal Report: Steph- anie Hochhalter reviewed her re- port with the Board. Topics of dis- cussion included Concluded Events and Results, College and Career Ready, Professional Development and Snack Month. Elementary Principal Report: Todd Hetler reviewed his report with the Board. Topics of discus- sion included Achievement Tests, Kindergarten Sign Up, Instructional Rounds, Barb Boesl Visits, Science Committee and Community Rela- tions. Old Business: Daren Christianson gathered bids and information on a new Board table. The Board agreed to keep the current Board table and move it, so it allows Board members to see the public and be seen by the public. New Business: A. District policies were reviewed by the Board. Nicole Koons made a motion to acknowledge the home school let- ter of intent presented. Dave Hart seconded the motion. Motion was carried. An open enrollment ap- plication was presented to the Board. Tiffany Hetletved made a motion to approve the open enroll- ment application presented. Dawn Kruk seconded the motion. Mo- tion was carried. Shauna Schneider has requested approval to attend the North Dakota School Business Manager Certification Program that is offered through the North Dakota School Board Association. Dave Hart made a motion to ap- prove Shauna Schneider to attend the North Dakota School Business Manager Certification Program. Dawn Kruk seconded the motion. Motion was carried. Dave Hart gave an Activities Committee re- port. The numbers are up in girl’s track and Alex Quintane has agreed to be a track coach this season. There is a student out for track that will need assistance. Ethen Askvig will look into what will be needed to assist the student and the added cost. Nicole Koons made a motion to approve Alex Quintane as a track coach. Steve Olson seconded the motion. Motion was carried. Cin- dy Stremick stated that according to NDCC 44-04-19.2 the board move to go into executive session to discuss negotiations. Dave Hart made a motion to go into executive session. Tiffany Hetletved seconded the motion. Motion was carried. The Board went into executive session at 8:17 p.m. The Board reconvened from executive session at 8:35 p.m. Next Board meeting will be April 15, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the School Board Meeting Room. Communications: Carson Sor-by and Brady Weisenberger from Farmer’s Union Insurance gave a presentation of services they could provide the School District. These services would make it more cost ef-fective for the District and easier for the employees with a service mod-el. No current services provided would be lost. They would manage those services for the District and employees. The Board received a thank you from Josh and Pam Kri-varchka for the Foundation dona-tion in honor of Pam’s father.

Administrators’ Reports:Science Committee Report -

Kathy Rueger and Alison Podhrad-sky presented the new Elementary science curriculum proposal to the Board. The current science curricu-lum is nine years old, is not labora-tory based and does not incorpo-rate technology. Lab Learner, Foss Science and Amplify Science were the three curriculums researched by the Science Committee. Lab Learner is the curriculum of choice. The estimate for the curriculum/site license, laboratory equipment, laboratory furnishings, scientific supplies and professional develop-ment is $42,000 and the workbooks are $10,000. The workbooks would be an annual expense. Managing the laboratory room was discussed with scheduling. The quote is good for six months from Lab Learner.

Superintendent’s Report- Daren Christianson reviewed his report with the Board adding that he is sending out legislative updates weekly, is a guest reader in 14 classrooms at the Elementary on Wednesdays, is still waiting to hear

back from CTS and has a gentleman form Consolidated Construction coming in to visit tomorrow.

MS/HS Principal Report: Steph-anie Hochhalter reviewed her re-port with the Board. Topics of dis-cussion included Concluded Events and Results, College and Career Ready, Professional Development and Snack Month.

Elementary Principal Report: Todd Hetler reviewed his report with the Board. Topics of discus-sion included Achievement Tests, Kindergarten Sign Up, Instructional Rounds, Barb Boesl Visits, Science Committee and Community Rela-tions.

Old Business: Daren Christianson gathered

bids and information on a new Board table. The Board agreed to keep the current Board table and move it, so it allows Board members to see the public and be seen by the public.

Dave Hart gave an Activities Committee re-port. The numbers are up in girl’s track and Alex Quintane has agreed to be a track coach this season. There is a student out for track that will need assistance. Ethen Askvig will look into what will be needed to assist the student and the added cost. Nicole Koons made a motion to approve Alex Quintane as a track coach. Steve Olson seconded the motion. Motion was carried. Cin-dy Stremick stated that according to NDCC 44-04-19.2 the board move to go into executive session to discuss negotiations. Dave Hart made a motion to go into executive session.
