INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Cays have an integrated management system (IMS) approach for quality and safety which is controlled using SharePoint. This is accessible for all employees.

This system manages all of Cays procedures and controlled documentationincluding:

Cays Engineering is committed to the effective implementation of ourOccupational Health, Safety and Environment system and to continuallyimprove our OHSE performance. Cays Engineering aims to have a ‘zero’work-related incidents, injuries or illness to all employees.

Cays Engineering recognizes that we have a duty of care to ensure thatwe maintain a safe workplace and safe systems of work in all ourbusiness activities.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

• Clear evidence of benefits of accreditation:• For 2009-2011 a total Four (4) Lost Time Injuries were

recorded.• For 2012 there were Zero (0) Lost Time Injuries with over 11%

more man-hours utilized in the workshop.

• Increased awareness and recognition of safety related issues forboth staff and workshop operatives resulting in greater input atmonthly toolbox meetings and willingness to volunteer for safetyrepresentative roles.

• Workers compensation premium rate represents a discount of 25%off the government recommended rate.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

• The funding we received from the Industry Facilitation and SupportProgram (IFSP) helped Cays achieve OHS accreditation by SAI Global.The funding covered the specialized external OHS auditor whoassisted by:

• Reviewing our original OHS system

• Identifying areas that required action to ensure out system meetsAS4801 requirements.

• Ongoing assistance and advice

The ISFP funding also assisted with:CHEOPS TRAINING

Cheops is an accounting package for the construction industry.• Aligns Cays with our clients• Manages progress claims and client variations.• Produces cost reports for forecasting.• The IFSP funding assisted in training for both the accounts

department and project teams.

STRUMIS TRAINING

StruMIS is specifically for the structural steel industry• It has a document control package which stores all files• Drawings are linked to fabricated items• Tracks fabrication in the workshop/paint yards and site• Provides the ability of stock control• The IFSP funding assisted in the training if all aspects used by

Cays.

BARCODE SYSTEM WIRELESS SCANNER

• The IFSP funding contributed to the wireless bar codingscanner which is used at Cays Engineering.

• The scanner allows Cays to track the fabrication of individualsteel components from material ordering to delivery.

• Assists in securing work as the ability to track and accuratelyreport progress is very attractive to our customers

• Supervisors scan item barcodes as each process is completedwhich automatically updates the StruMIS system.

• Barcodes are attached to all items dispatched from theworkshop allowing ongoing tracking by client if required.

PROXIMITY CLOCK READER

• In addition, the Industry Facilitation and SupportProgram (IFSP) funding also contributed to thepurchase of our Proximity clock reader.

• Replaced Swipe Card system previously usedeliminating problems associated with damagedtime cards and inaccurate readings.

• Accurately captures project hours and allocates todisciplines and individuals.
