A Unique Dining & Shopping Experience
JCCSC/JCCF is grateful for the support of its many members, sponsors, and friends who have helped us throughout the year in our numerous community events. Today, we will be celebrating the 20th Annual Oshogatsu in Little Tokyo Event. Oshogatsu means New Year’s Day in Japanese. There are also many organizations that have worked with us in making this Oshogatsu a true community celebration.
The Japanese believe that January 1st is a very important and precious day, which gives all of us the opportunity to start a new, like many cultures around the world. As we all come together on this day of celebration, I hope you enjoy all the festivities as we share our cultural traditions with you; such as our art, food and performances. Unlike in Japan where businesses close in observance of Oshogatsu, you will be able to shop and eat at the many businesses that are open today throughout Little Tokyo.
My best wishes for your good health, happiness, and success!
Sincerely,
Ichiro Jeff YamazakiPresident

JAPANESE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA244 S. San Pedro St,, #410Los Angeles, CA 90012
I am pleased to share my heartfelt greetings for Oshogatsu in Little Tokyo, where people come together to enjoy Japanese new year’s traditions infused with the energy and spirit of the Japanese American community.
I commend this celebration organized by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Southern California and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce Foundation, which kicks off the new year with enthusiasm and excitement in a Japanese way. I extend my deepest gratitude to JCCSC and JCCF for its tireless efforts to strengthen community bonds and deepen the Japan-U.S. relationship, and look forward to working with them and the entire Japanese American community in the year ahead.
As we welcome the Year of the Dog, I wish everyone a year of abundant good health, happiness, prosperity, and even stronger ties between Japan and the United States!
Sincerely,
Akira Chiba Consul General of Japan
