Using tilting trains with ClearRouteTM 2 is an essential course for all users of the tilting trains module in ClearRouteTM 2.

Using tilting trains with ClearRouteTM 2 certification provides an understanding of how tilting trains behave differently from conventional trains and how this should be taken into account when gauging.

Course overview

The one-day course is delivered using a mix of explanations and demonstrations combined with a series of exercises ensuring that delegates gain plenty of hands-on experience.

Each delegate will undertake a formal assessment. Upon completion they will be presented with a certificate to confirm their competence along with a CLP file to install in ClearRouteTM 2.

Delegates are provided with comprehensive course notes to take away for future reference.

A maximum class size of four for our ClearRouteTM 2 certification courses ensures that each delegate receives a high level of support from the tutor and has access to the appropriate equipment.

• Reasons for tilting trains

• Operational models including active, passive and failed

• Compensating for tilt lead and lag

• Use of current tilting train vehicle models in ClearRouteTM 2 - Virgin Pendolino (Class 390) and Virgin Super Voyager (Class 221)

• Tilting train operation including Tilt Authorisation and Speed Supervision
