We hosted, fed and/or entertained dignitaries, awesome Coasties, Canadian visitors, USCG retirees, Post 28 members and the general public. A special THANK YOU to all who helped make that happen! September appears to be lining up as another busy month. We have the Post 28 Picnic here at noon on Sunday the 10 th and the next morning, the 9/11 Memorial Service at the Post, followed by the ALR sponsored motorcade to LST393 at the Mart Dock in Muskegon for a joint service with Muskegon and Ottawa County First Responders. Please support SAL Squadron 28 at Salmon Fest on Friday the 15 th . All veterans, but especially Vietnam Vets, are reminded of the LZ MICHIGAN celebration at 5/3 Park on Saturday the 23 rd (see the poster on our bulletin board for details). Don't be just a "Lounge Lizard". Partake of the opportunities and events offered by Michigan's Premier American Legion Post. Each and every one of us has something to contribute to the vitality of Post life. On that note, anyone who might volunteer for food service or prep, please Save The Date - October 28 th . The Ottawa County Health Department will be presenting a Post 28 sponsored three hour training seminar about safe food handling practices. Thanks to all whose efforts keep Charles A.
