Who we are:The Christeenianity Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3), Christian-based, outreach program designed as a resource for both teens in shelters and teens in the community at large. By incorporating a biblical foundation and principles in everything we do, we strive to minister the message of God to everyone involved with our organization.
What we do:We organize, coordinate and support groups of teens from throughout the community, to participate in outreach projects and events designed to benefit abused and neglected teens who are currently in the care of shelters throughout our community. These outreach projects and events include everything from, taking sheltered teens out to movies, parks, Christian concerts, etc., with our community teens participating as chaperones, guides and general helpers. In cases where the sheltered residents are restricted from leaving the facilities, we implement “in-shelter” events in order to maximize our outreach.
Why we do it:There is a huge number of severely abused and neglected children in our community. They are residents of shelters across the city. In some cases, they are being “rehabilitated” to the point of just being able to enter the state system. Most of these children have been rejected or displaced and can’t comprehend that they are loved, and most have no hope for the future. There are NONE in our community that need to be shown the love of God, and provided with hope, more than these lost children.
By incorporating and facilitating the participation of teens in the community for these outreach events we are providing them an opportunity for service work and charity directly supporting their disadvantaged peers.
Our hope is that we instill, in both groups of teens, an overwhelming basis of understanding God’s existence, love and compassion.

As I grew up in this strange family I found that there was great rivalry between the wives and their children. My mother and her children were at the bottom of the pecking order. Probably because she was more passive than the other wives and felt that it was her calling to be the peacemaker.
My father was a CPA and made good money at his job, but it was not enough to support his large family. He had 10 acres of land in Sandy, Utah which had cows, horses, pigs, chickens and a large vegetable garden that helped us get by. Three of his wives worked and the other one stayed at home and with the help of the teenagers took care of the children. This also helped to make ends meet. If you were a boy over the age of 16 you had to get a job and give your paycheck to father. If you were a boy under the age of 16 you took care of the farm animals and the gardening.
My father was a control freak. He would not allow us to call him Dad. We had to call him by the more respectful term, Father. Also if you needed anything you had to have his approval or you couldn’t have it. This applied to everything including clothes. I remember my mom taking clothes that were hand-me-down’s from my older brother, and putting them in father’s study with my name written on a piece of
paper. They stayed there until father decided that I was wor-
thy to have them. I
remember at age 12 wishing for a guitar and hoping that one day father would change his mind about my having one. My Brothers Steve and Ken both had a guitar. But father for some reason wouldn’t allow me to have one. In an act of rebellion my mom found an old six string classical guitar at a second hand store and it was only ten bucks. She bought it for me with money she had been putting away for the day she would leave father. She warned me to never play it where others could hear and to hide it, especially from father. I recall one day after school I was playing my guitar. My father came home early and heard me playing so he burst into my room and asked where the guitar came from? He took my gui-tar from me and put it in his study for three months. It remained there until one evening I played a song on Steven’s guitar and father was so pleased with my playing that he gave me the guitar back. I only relate this so you can understand the degree of con-trol my father exercised on his family. In his opinion he was teaching us where our blessing came from. And the correct answer wasn’t God.
My father was an abusive man. I never saw or heard of him hitting one of his wives. But I have heard of the abuses suffered by my older siblings. He ruled his house with fear. I remember how death-ly afraid I was whenever he came home from work. I remember seeing the same fear in the eyes of my siblings. I was blessed to be one of the youngest because by the time I came on the scene; my
