Our Mission:The Mission of every Catholic Parish was given it by Jesus Christ when he said to the eleven “All power in heaven and earth has beengiven to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the HolySpirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28: 26-30) Our mission is to spread the Gospel!These are the opening words of today sfirst reading. What will you do, what will I do, to seek the Lord this week? Today s Gospel from Matthew gives us a list of qualities, usually called the Beatitudes, which will bring us closer to God. Here are a few to ponder:
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness . . . We can earnestly pray for our country in this tumultuous time, that goodness and justice prevail. Blessed are the peacemakers . . . We can try to make peace with those whom we disagree, without compromising our own principles.
Blessed are the merciful . . . We can extend the mercy of God to others in our thoughts and actions. Each one of these Beatitudes contains a promise. There is not space to print them all, but reread the Gospel and consider the rewards. And probably the most difficult, Blessed are you
when they insult and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me. Rejoice and be glad for your reward will be great in heaven.What more can we ask for? Agnes Scheuermann

The Ministry of Consolation is looking for vol-unteers to help with funeral Mass prepara-tions.Duties would include:
