ASEAN IMPACT CHALLENGE

Since 2015, ASEAN Impact Challenge has been the leading regional platform that discovers and scales partnerships and innovations for impact on the Sustainable

Development Goals in Southeast Asia.

Our belief is simple: Business can be a force for good and there is a business opportunity in the SDGs. We have seen over the last 4 years of the programme, that this statement is true, regardless of the size of the business. The SDGs are a

business opportunity. A USD12 trillion opportunity, in fact.

Selected finalists will join a structured accelerator aimed at unleashing their potential through leadership and entrepreneurial capacities to tackle the region’s pressing social, economic and environmental challenges whilst building a sustainable business. The program will deliver a tailored 8-week Global Goals Labs, mentorship from corporate partners and access to markets and networks.

The 3 key outcomes of the program are:

1) Building and improving the capacity of the innovation ecosystem and the innovators driving impactful innovations in the region

2) Brokering local and regional mentorship and resource opportunities

3) Facilitating connections between innovators/startups and corporates to unlock business opportunities, networks and partnerships

Through an 8-week tailored Global Goals

Labs program, participants will have access to the content and modules covering the following tentative

key topics: The Innovation, The Money,

The Story, The Market, The Team and The Impact

Impact Hub KL will support to connect and match

the participants to a diverse group of

mentors/experts from its network

(in-country/regional) covering specific needs

and challenges faced by participants. Mentors will

cover the key themes/pillars that will be

delivered in the workshops through both

online and offline engagements.

Impact Hub KL will further support to connect,

facilitate and engage participants with its multi-stakeholder

MoU Partnership Signing Ceremony between Grab and Warung Pintar, scale-stage winner of AIC 2018, witnessed by Pak Semuel Pangerapan,

powered by IoT and data analytics through their proprietary “Smart Kiosks”. In less than one year, Warung Pintar has digitised 1,000

kiosks across the Greater Jakarta area.

Positive Energy, which offers a blockchain-based renewable energy

finance platform, It aims to revolutionise the energy funding process to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy assets

globally with a blockchain-based platform, making green investments fast, liquid and

economically viable for all parties involved.

Waste4Change is a turnkey Waste to Wealth initiative supported by a

technology platform enabling everyoneto be part of the circular economy.

Country: Indonesia

JALA is an IoT device developed by Atnic that gathers water quality data helping shrimp farmers access historical data

and analysis to increase yield and minimise the risk of harvest failure.



Theme: Inclusive innovations for ASEAN Host Country: Philippines


Country: Thailand

Siam Organic is a social enterprise that solves the problem of farmer poverty

through innovative organic products with global appeal, starting with “Jasberry” rice. Beginning with just 25 farmers in the first year, Siam Organic now works with over

1,100 farmers helping them out of poverty, one grain at a time.

Country: Singapore

WateROAM is a water innovation enterprise founded to develop water

filtration solutions that bring about the quickest access to clean drinking water

at disaster-hit locations, and help to promote social change in rural

development areas.
