GREAT NEWS: The Catholic Foundation has announced that St. Rose School will receive two grants in the coming year. The grants are: $5,000.00 for Education and Faith Formation and $12,500.00 for Improvement to St. Rose School’s Security. These are gratefully received and will be very useful and helpful in the operation of St. Rose School. The Catholic Foundation is a gracious partner who supports St. Rose School through the financial gifts of their donors.

RCIA: Next scheduled group meeting is: Wednesday, January 10th. The topic will be The Blessed Virgin Mary; the Saints (Section 8). Then on January 17th, the topic is Christ’s Faithful – Hierarchy, Laity, Consecrated Life Meetings are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

A THANK-YOU was received from the Augustinian Friars, who made the Mission Appeal to the three Consortium Parishes back in September. Contributions included: St. Rose – $901.12; St. Patrick – $803.70; and St. Bernard – $281.70. “The Augustinians are most grateful for the opportunity to bring the mission message to your parishes and for the generosity and prayers of your people. Please be assured of the prayers of our missionaries in Japan and Peru and of the people they serve.”

BATTERIES: For those techie gift folks out there. Consider rechargeable batteries instead of alkaline. Technology keeps improving! Recharge same batteries hundreds of times over single-use disposables! Save Money and Resources. Keep batteries out of landfills! Instead, recycle and properly dispose for a better Earth! Rechargeables are best! Don’t throw batteries away! Current Battery Recycling Drop-Off Sites: PC Recycling Office, PC Health Department, Perry County Tribune, Help Me Grow, Somerset Pharmacy, SPICE (New Straitsville) Roseville Village Office, Perry Recycling. Visit www.perryrecycling.com or call 740-342-7881.

150TH ANNIVERSARY crocks are still available. The cost is $30.00 each, and you can pick them up at the Rectory Office. They make great gifts!

REMEMBER in your prayers, all Consortium members who are ill or injured. Especially, the homebound and those in healthcare facilities and hospitals. Also, make sure to notify the Consortium Office (740-342-1348) of anyone who needs a priest to anoint them; is in the hospital or rehab facility, and/or needs to have the Sacraments brought to their home, on a regular basis.

CONSORTIUM WOMEN’S MINISTRY: We are women seeking Jesus through prayer, Scripture and a supportive sisterhood in Christ. We believe in the beauty of a Catholic life pointing toward our Heavenly Father and Eternal life. Meetings are the first and third Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., in the lower level of the Parish Community Center. Meetings begin with praying the Rosary or Divine Mercy Chaplet, followed by a faith-filled discussion with Scripture reading. On January 6th, the group started the book study “The Friendship Project,” written by Emily Jaminet and Michele Fachnie. A practical primer for any Catholic Woman seeking ways to deepen old friendships and develop new ones. We will watch a DVD series, complete study questions and have an open discussion on each chapter. Come and join us!! The cost of the book is $15.95. If interested, please contact the Consortium Office.

CCD INFORMATION: 7th and 8th Grade CCD will resume January 7, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. See you then. The next Youth Group Meeting night will be January 14th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
