Saratoga National Historical Park Winter ActivitiesSTILLWATER – Saratoga National Historical Park has closed its driving tour road for the winter. While the tour road closes for the season, the Park Visitor Center is open daily from 9am-5pm, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Days. Also, the grounds of the Battlefield are open to pedestrian use during daylight hours, 7 days a week, and its hiking trails make a great place for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Advocating for Tech Valley’s Future The next chapter in GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ unprecedent-ed growth spurt was recently announced in the form of a $2 billion Technology Development Center on its sprawling Malta campus. It is truly amazing how this gi-ant company, with its 1900-plus employees (which will swell to nearly 3000) has energized an entire region, providing evidence that our hometowns are indeed the epicenter of an economic revolution with local and na-tional implications. Mark Eagan is President/CEO of the 2300 member Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce, the capital region’s leading business advocacy organiza-tion. He recently commented that “the actions of gov-ernment can have a direct impact on our businesses and our region’s ability to thrive.” In setting his chamber’s 2013 Government Ad-vocacy Agenda, available on www.capitalregionvoice.com, he spells out a multi-point plan that offers businesses and business leaders a comprehensive frame-work for sharing the message of what we collectively need to succeed. Says Mark, “we speak with a collective voice to assert the positive and essential role that businesses play in improving the economic well being for all who call the Capital Region home.” It is always a pleasure to share Mark’s sentiments with southern Saratoga read-ers.
