Recommendations:
For a good effect of the tool it’s important to:
m Work with 6 hats. Every had has his function, if there is missing one, the process of reflection is incomplete or negative
m Respect the order of the hats:• Blue hat to open• White hat• Red hat• Grey hat• Yellow hat• Green hat• Blue hat to build the diary and to close
It’s important to work with the red and grey hats first to realize the catharsis. Later express the feelings and frustrations and after that find solutions and new ideas.
m It’s important that all the participants have the same number of cards to balance the participation and guarantee the participation of every one.
m The black color has not the same meaning in every culture (for example the Mayas use black as the color of peace), so some people could feel offended ore see racism in this, so it´s better to use grey instate.
m It’s possible to use this tool to start with a new topic.

1º Orientation of the exercise
The promoter can use the slide show to explain and promote the exercise.
2º Start the topic with the blue had:
The tool of the six hats starts with the blue one to find the general main topics:
In our case:
• Climate change and wood• Climate change and water• Climate change and agriculture• Climate change and responsible consume • Climate change and energy• Climate change and migration
3º Development of the exercise with the white, red, grey, yellow and green hats:
Develop the exercise with the following hats in the following order and with the following questions. Everyone has to fill up one ore two cards (same color as the hat):
White hat [ What information, dates, facts to wehave?
Red hat [ How do we feel?
Grey hat [ What negative aspects have the topic?
Yellow hat [ What positive aspects?
Green hat [ What new, creative, crazy ideas do we have to resolve the problem?
Blue hat [ How we are today? how we want to be in the future?

4º Conclusion, exchange of perceptions of the exercise:
After the conclusion with the blue hat, the promoter has to do a small resume of every hat.
5º Posterior work: systematization:
The Promoter ore one of every group shows the positive effect of every hat and collects the crazy ideas. These ideas you can use later for the elaboration of prototypes.
Applications:
This technique is useful for every reunion ore working session in which you search a solution for a situation ore problem. You don’t need hats for it only the order and the questions are important.
