KBC ClosingBy: Jay Anne Alera

Dengue AwarenessBy: Carol Talosig

After having our 12 weeks ofKBC in different places, shar-ing the love of Christ to thelittle ones our heart over-flows with gladness witness-ing about how God worked inthe lives of the children andeven to grown-ups.

Last week of August until firstweek of September 2016, wein the Child Development

Program conduct our KiddyBible Class Closing Program in10 areas within Montalban,Payatas and Antipolo with atotal number of 751 students. The places were filled with joyas they have games, singingand dancing. We heard thechildren voices laughing asthey witnessed and was givena chance to mingle with ourpuppets. Their hearts wereblessed through the Word of

God shared to them by thepastors.

It was a wonderful week forall of us. We praise God forblessing us with wisdom andstrength so the program willgo according to His will. Forsure we will miss the children, our fellowship with them andthe memories we had duringour stay in the differentchurches. We are sure that

the Lord will guide them asthey grow up as they nowhave learned about Jesus andpractice their faith. As like a gift from God, thechildren gave as hugs andkisses and a word that theywill continue serving and lov-ing Jesus. Indeed that minis-tering to these little ones is aprivilege for all of us.

To God is all the glory!

From June up to Novemberit’s rainy days, stagnant wa-ter and a lot of mosquitoes. When this three come to-gether; it is time for dengueawareness.

Because of this MCHC staffhave been focused the mo-bile clinic service this Augustby providing dengue aware-ness leaflet thru house tohouse distribution in differentplaces. During the said activ-ity we encounter differentresponses. We would like toshare their responses and ourexperience:

Mothers: received withthanksgiving and verbalized“It’s good we have some in-formation about dengue”Fathers: they read the leaflet

with interest and verbalizedto share it with their wifeChildren: more interestedand even willing to help dur-ing distribution. We encoun-tered a child who was in-fected by dengue virus and heshared his experience andsaid “I almost died of Den-gue” so he helped us with en-thusiasm.

We informed them to readand share the information tothe people they know and bean advocate in prevention ofDengue . We only met a fewthat were less interested andalmost 98 % were willing toaccept the information. Itsuch a wonderful experienceto be a vessel of informationfor disease prevention and tosave lives.

Counselling A Little Princeby: Maricel Baltes

I have met a 4, 5 years old andmalnourish little lad whoseems to chew and sip hisfood and he became one ofmy clients as community nu-tritional worker. He lives withhis grandmother who com-plained: “He eat but sip onlythe juice and then eat thepulp. His favorite food is ricemixed with sugar and histeeth has became terrible”.I spend some time with him,

talking and telling storiesabout different food groupthat will benefit him but hisseems unresponsive.

After two weeks I went totheir house again and thelittle prince has gained weightand his weight has becomenormal! He did take the ad-vice seriously and the grand-mother verbalized:” He isnow eating vegetables and

variety of nutritious food littleby little after counseling”. Thegrandmother asked as tocounsel the older sibling aswell.

We can see and share that achild deserves time and at-tention to be able to changea bad habit and live ahealthier life.

CMP School marks August asits Buwan ng Wika or Na-tional Language Month. Thecelebration was spearheadedby the Department of Educa-tion to enhance the use of theFilipino language. Schools aremandated to come up withactivities that will make thestudent understand why theFilipino language is one thatidentify us as a Filipino and

boast our national pride.

This is the time of the year forCMP School to focus its at-tention to the importance ofFilipino as our national lan-guage. The month long cel-ebration includes the appre-ciation of the Filipino cultureand heritage which is incor-porated in the curriculum.

For this year’s the theme wehave was: “Filipino: Wika ngKarunungan”.

On August 25, 2016, CMPSchool - Molfrid Center con-cluded the month long ce-lebration through competi-tion of all level (Grade 1 -4)in Poem Recitation andBalagtasan using Filipino as amedium. August 26, 2016

They had a Cul-tural Dance Competition; it isa folk dance in the tune of thelatest Original Filipino Music. And last but not the least, onthe 31st of August, 2016, CMPSchool - Open Heart had theirown way of concluding themonth long celebration. ThePreschoolers proudly pa-raded their Filipino costumesin the grounds of Hills ofGrace. And to top it all theyhave a contest on Poem Reci-tation.

That is how CMP School ob-served Buwan ng Wika andall lessons and events weredesigned to deepen thechildren’s appreciation forthe Filipino language.
