August serves as the “Buwan ng Wika” for the entire Philippines. Our national language is part of our heritage, something that we must cherish, protect and be proud of. Our language is part of our culture and what distinguishes us from our Asean neighbors. Our youth deserve to know and be informed about this so we can preserve and pass on this beautiful culture to the next generations to come. By celebrating “Buwan ng Wika”, not only is our language highlighted but all the other facets of our culture as well, such as our food, the way we dress and even the distinct games we play. Our students participated in everything that defines a Filipino. MESSAGE BOARD

04 September 2017

Buwan ng Wika is the time public is reminded about the importance of Filipino language. This so called language is one of the things that could identify a person. Buwan ng Wika boosts our national pride. As national hero Dr. Jose Rizal once emphasized the importance of national language, “Ang hindi magmahal sa sariling wika ay higit sa hayop at malansang isda; kaya ating pagyamaning kusa, gaya ng inang sa atin ay nagpala.”

The month of August marks the celebration of National Language Month (Buwan ng Wika). Center for Excellence in Special Education (Stepping Stone) Foundation Inc. actively participated in celebrating the Buwan ng Wika 2017 with the theme “Filipino: Wikang Mapagbago”. All students from the Makati and Sucat campus (EI, FA and TA) showcased their talents and skills in dancing folk dance, singing Filipino songs and poem reciting like real Filipino poets. Our very own Academics Head, Ms. Joana Brion warmly welcomed all the students, parents, teachers and visitors before the program started. Teachers Lea Balusdan and Angelica Varona were the teachers in charge in this event, Teacher Gloria Grace Aboagye played host to the event. Stepping Stone’s supportive Executive Director and other Trustees were there to witness the said event. The program took place at the Rotary Club of Makati building located at Camia St., Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City.
