Veteran’s Day Commemoration

On this Veterans’ Day, let us honor our men and women in uniform, past,

and present, who have served or are currently serving our country.

Book Rental and Student Fees

Thank you to those families that have already

gotten the book rental and student fees paid!

Receipts are being sent home with the stu-

dents when payments are received. If you

haven't received a statement, please call or

email Mrs. Martin at 812-853-7347

or cmmartin@warrick.k12.in.us. Payments

are due by Friday, November 30, 2018.

CNMS Math Academy

Did you miss the first meeting of the Math

Academy but still want to join? We would love

for you to join in the fun on Tuesdays

[November through March] from 6:00 PM -

8:00 PM in room 308. All 6th, 7th, and 8th

grade students are welcome.

Remember that this is not homework help time.

You can expect assignments that are above

and beyond current classroom work. You don’t

have to know it all, we’ll teach you. If you like

challenging problems, and like math no matter

your skill, you might find it fun.

Parents are encouraged to accompany their

child to brush up on their Math skills and bring

their insights to the sessions.

wreaths on fallen soldiers’ graves. Thanks to

“Caring Makes the World Go ‘Round”

The CNMS generationOn Club members are

selling “Caring Makes the World Go ‘Round” for

$10 a copy at The Foundry Center for The Arts

Craft and Vendor Show on Saturday, No-

vember 17 at 8255 Bell Oaks Drive in New-

burgh. All proceeds go to the Dolly Parton Im-

agination Library in Warrick County. Come

shop the booths of 55 vendors and grab a book

or two. These books make wonderful gifts!

A book order form is attached to the newsletter

for anyone who would like to get a books or

make a donation before the craft show. Com-

plete the form and return it to

Mrs. Short with the pay-

CNMS’ Spelling Bee

Part 2: Vocabulary Bee

All homeroom oral spelling bees are complete,

and now we move on to part 2 of our spelling

bee. In an effort to replicate the actual Scripps

Spelling Bee, the second part of our spelling bee

is a vocabulary quiz which will occur this week

on Tuesday (6th-grade), Wednesday (7th-

grade), and Thursday (8th-grade). Once all

three grade levels have tested, a list of the top

25 students will be posted for our final phase of

the spelling bee, an oral spelling bee on

Wednesday, December 12th.

Again, a reminder that studying for each phase

is up to participating students. There are some

great word websites online to practice and play

around with words. Just to name a few, check

out Merriam-Webster’s Word Central at

http://wordcentral.com and Merriam-Webster’s

Spell It! at http://www.myspellit.com.
