One of the longest-running and well-recognized programs in the Northeast, Merrimack’s Co-op program is offered to students of all majors, beginning in the fall and spring. general Description of Co-op ProgramsThe Engineering Career Development Center facilitates mandatory cooperative experience programs in bioengineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering. Additionally, there are optional co-op opportunities for Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer Science & Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, and Information Technology majors.

In 1997 the College of Engineering implemented a mandatory cooperative education program. Each student enrolled in an engineering program is required to complete a minimum of three semester-long cooperative education work experiences. The College of Engineering has six accredited B.S. engineering programs and five accredited B.S. engineering and information technology programs. Our students have accepted positions in 42 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and 36 foreign countries. Our students are employed at over 1,890 employer sites. Choosing to employ a co-op allows a business to select from a well prepared pool of employees.
