1. COURSE DESCRIPTION:How ought a person behave and how ought a corporation transact business with the impending
global crises of the modern era? Students will be confronted with controversial issues and askedto develop a personal and corporate mission that encompasses a resolute stance on the issues thatplague our society. The purpose of the course is not only to become a better businessman/woman, but ideally an active contributor to the betterment of society at a global scale.

3. COURSE OBJECTIVES:By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Conduct cost/benefit financial analyses of sustainability issues facing organizations2. Make knowledgeable sustainability recommendations based on tangible and intangible con-
siderations
3. Understand how sustainability is critical from a personal perspective and business perspec-tive, including but not limited to: technology, finance, marketing, ethics and management
Specifically, students will increase their knowledge, skills and abilities in vital management areasincluding but not limited to:
1. Critical thinking and decision making2. Financial analysis and reporting3. Professional communication skills including business writing, conducting professional and ef-
fective meetings, making professional presentations, giving and receiving constructive feed-
back and time management
4. Effective team development and management, including problem solving and conflict resolu-tion
5. Individual self-awareness about personal responsibility and contribution to global sustainabil-ity
6. Leadership, including dealing with conflict and decision making7. Individual, team, and leadership problem solving
