They are not durable at all, especially going through hard wood. 5 mins and the edge was destroyed. They have practically no weight cause they are so thin so they dont make good choppers either. Machetes are not for splitting wood, they are more for clearing brush. If you must have something that looks cool, get a knife with a large blade, 9" or more and you will have much better luck. you mentioned sword im speaking of machetes. I can tell you alot about Sudan, more than you would ever know. Kaskara sword is used throughout west africa namely by Hausas. A sword isnt a machete just like a lance isnt a spear. You should also know that most stabbings are done with very thin kitchen ,chefs knives. Hack with a thin machete into someone arms and/or neck. Ill hear you when you got more experience with that . And if you have 20 years of experience you should have known better by now ..A blade should be blunt and heavy?...Come on man.I can tell you that I could lop a head half off if not totally with that Condor Bolo machete.And wooden handles.They crack and break much easier than PP. Many Chinese military swords were historically very thin. Sudanese kaskara swords, too. And don't even get me started on the Indian urumi...have you noticed the swords that bull fighters dispatch bulls with? They are so thin that they actually bend slightly under their own weight when poised for the thrust. How long have you spent jungle trekking? Ive over the last 2 decades trekked over 625 miles in virgin jungle on traditional expidetions. Ive used an array of tools including many western variants like combat survival knives etc. I can assure you a thin blade will not cut paths through virgin jungle, it will be pitiful against a wild beast. A blade should be blunt/heavy, The reasons simple it must act as a sword and an axe at the same time. thats a poor machete dont get it very shit. The best machetes are the african variant they can cut down trees. Machetes should be blunted, have wooden handles. If you take this to the jungle you will struggle.sexymalcom1970 3 months ago
