ful for any person or persons to erect , place, cause or permi t , or al low to be erected, build, or place wi thin a dis­t ance of thirty-five feet f rom the line of any avenue , or s t reet , or wi thin thir ty-five feet of any dwel l ing house , s i tua ted upon an adjoining lot or pa r ­cel of land, in t h e city of Ann Arbor , any barn , s table . chickencoop, or o the r building, shed, or inclosure, to be used, or which shai l be. used, for t h e purpose of secur ing or keep ing any an ima l or a n i m a l s or poul t ry , or for the purpose of s tor ing or keep ing bay, grain, or o ther food for any an i ­ma l or an ima l s or poul t ry , or in which to feed any a n i m a l or a n i m a l s or poul t ry .

Section 2. I t shall be unlawful for any person or persons to deposi t or cause to be deposi ted upon any side­walk or wi thin thir'^y-five feet f rom the line of any avenue or s t reet , or wi th in thirty-five feet of any dwel l ing house, upon an adjoining lot or pa r ­cel of land any m a n u r e or o the r filth, or allow same to be d u m p e d upon any premises owned or occupied by h im , h e r or t hem, or cause or al low to be fastened or keep upon any ]jremises owned or occupied by h im, her . or t h e m any an imal or a n i m a l s wi th in th ' r ty-f ive feet, from t h e line of any street or avenue, for t h e pur ­pose of keep ing such an ima l s in such place longer t h a n twenty- four ho'iirs, inc luding t e m p o r a r y removals , or for the purpose of using such place as a s table or feeding place for such an i ­m a l or an ima l s ; provided, t h a t th i s section shall not be cons t rued to p re ­vent any person from dis'^ributing over his p remises m a n u r e for the pur ­pose of benefitting t h e soil.

Section 3. Any person or persons v iola t ing any of the above provisions of th i s ord inance , shall , upon con­vict ion thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding One iHundred Dol lars and the cost of such prosecut ion, and in default of payment of such fine the Court m a y m a k e a fu r the r sentence t h a t the offender be impr isoned in t h e •County Jail of W a s h t e n a w county, or any jail or lockup of said city unt i l such fine and costs be paid. Provided such impr i sonmen t shall not exceed ninety days.

unpaved s t ree ts and provid ing a m e t h o d of ra i s ing by t axa t ion t h e money to pay and defray the cost and expense thereof. The Common Council of the City

of Ann Arbor, o rda in : Sec. 1. The re shal l be and he reby

is es tabl ished a system of oiling un­paved s t ree t s of t h e City of Ann Arbor , and it shal l be t h e duty of any and every person, firm or corpora t ion who shal l obta in a con t rac t for s t reet oil ing u n d e r the provis ions of thijs o rd inance , a n d as well all sub-con­t rac t s , to well, and at all t imes suf­ficiently oil f rom curb line to curb line any and all s t r ee t s or pa r t s of s t ree ts men t ioned in any such con­t r ac t so t h a t the dust in and on any strpet or s t ree ts shal l be sufficiently laid.
