Kangoo JumpsKids love to bounce; they jump on the bed, on the couch, on trampolines, and they love the sensation of being “air-borne”. In fact, the urge to jump is quite natural. Because jumping is so much fun, most children don’t realize how beneficial it is to their health... so please don’t tell them that it’s really exercise!

Kangoo Jumps are very safe and easy to use. Children finally have a perfect exercise option that burns calories, tones all muscles, increases their agility and self esteem, while they are playing!

Mini Bike

The Mini Bike is one of the smallest bikes in the world and perfect for clowns or those who just like clowning around!

Tight Wire Walking

Walking the tight wire is very popular. It is not quite as easy as getting from A to B. You won’t fall far, as our professional practice tightrope is close to the ground and an instructor will always be near by.

Uni Cycle Balance Bike

Just like on a unicycle - but easier. This way, you keep your hands free for other funny stuff! Learning to ride this vehicle is way easier than riding a unicycle - it is great fun anyway!

Uni Cycle

Unicycle riding, once the preserve of actual circus performers, has become a popular “circus skill” for those wanting to improve balance and co-ordination, or just to have fun!

Play Sessions

Play Sessions are offered in blocks of 6 or 12 sessions (half or full term) with sessions lasting approximately 1.5 hours. These sessions are suitable for whole class groups or smaller more targeted groups of children. They contain a wide variety of play activities with plans tailored to the specific needs of your school. Activities could include den building, loose parts play, identity play, team games, physical activities and elemental play - earth, fire, water and air. All sessions are fully risk assessed, and these are available to the school prior to the delivery of the sessions.

Behaviour and engagement

Sessions are suitable for smaller targeted groups of children (usually 10-15) who struggle with positive behaviour and engagement in school. We provide a range of fun and inspirational activities which will motivate children to become actively involved with the session whilst also promoting the development of skills required for positive behaviour to occur, such as communication, resilience, social skills, problem solving and working cooperatively with others.

Curriculum based sessions

These encourage attainment in a specific area of your curriculum such as English, History or Science and sessions can be linked to themes within the classroom e.g. traditional fairy stories if required. Sessions are suitable for whole class groups and will approach the subject in a fun and practical way which can be further extended when you return to class.

Transitions

Key transition periods can be a difficult time for some children and can have a negative affect on their confidence and well-being. These sessions support children through times of transition, helping to settle children, build confidence and establish new friendships. We can deliver transition sessions at the beginning of a new school term or year, in individual class groups, or at the end of year 6 across a cluster of primary schools feeding into one secondary. Transition sessions have also been used to support integration of children from new communities into the school as a whole.

Physical health

Suitable for whole class or smaller groups sessions are mainly based around physically active play activities but could also include cooking and eating a variety of healthy snacks using the fire pit or dutch oven. If you have any ideas for bespoke sessions or targeted groups within your school which are not listed above please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Forest School sessions are available in blocks of 6-12 sessions (half or full term) with sessions lasting approximately 1.5 hours. Sessions are delivered by fully qualified and outdoor first aid trained forest school practitioners and aim to introduce the Forest Schools ethos to schools, modelling ways of learning through play and child led activities which step away from the traditional classroom environment. This will give staff and children new ideas for play and learning as well as promoting children’s holistic development.

British Forest Schools have been developed and adapted from the original concept implemented in Sweden in the 1950’s. Forest School sessions are child led, based on small achievable tasks. Children have the freedom to explore a safe and stimulating environment whilst assessing and taking risks, therefore developing resilience and self regulation.

Activities could include:

● Den building● Games● Story telling/role play● Scavenger hunts● Environmental art● Tool work● Mud faces

● Fairy/elf hunting● Minibeast hunts● Weaving● Collecting materials

and fire lighting● Rope trails, swings

and bridges

All forest school activities are risk assessed and these are available to the school prior to the delivery of the sessions. Plans can be tailored to the specific needs of the school. For example Forest Schools could be used to:

● Enhance and extend classroom activities and subjects

● Launch an outdoor learning program in school● Increase staff confidence in

an outdoor environment● Increase children’s physical activity● Increase children’s confidence and self esteem● Work with targeted groups● Engage those children who do not

respond well to classroom learning

It is recommended, although not essential, to carry out at least 6 sessions with the same group of children to get the most benefit. We recommend a maximum of 15 children working with 2 forest school practitioners, however where more school staff are available this could be extended to a whole class group dependant on activities offered.

On behalf of our children, staff, governors and parents I would like to thank you for the fantastic afternoon we had last Friday. Comments from staff were “this is brilliant”, “Why haven’t we done this before?”, “Amazing afternoon”. The children’s comments were “ awesome”, “fantastic”, “brilliant”, “best fun ever”.

Our parents and governors were also both delighted to see how much fun the children were having and how safe and structured the whole afternoon was, which is down to you. I was particularly impressed with how smoothly and easily the whole event was put together by you and basically you delivered everything you said you would. I can think of no hiccups what so ever.

Your staff were polite and helpful even when it came to some of our female staff declaring they were definitely no heavier than 90kgs!! For the bungee trampolines.

Sharon Langford

– St Anthonys Catholic Primary School (Clayton)

The team are really doing a fantastic job by helping school’s like ourselves with equipment for holiday activities, high quality staff delivering exciting sessions during half term holiday’s as well as providing a fantastic catalogue of resources for attendance rewards such as Rodeo Bull and Spider Mountain at very competitive rates.

I am a big fan of the service and so too are our children. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the team.

Naveed Mushtaque

– Horton Park Primary School

I would like to thank the team for their professionalism and enthusiasm during activity day as part of our Health Week.

The children and staff really enjoyed the activities, we will definitely be using the service again, from all at Grove House, a big thank you!

Nadeem Akhtar

– Grove House Primary School

We invited the Community Play and Development Service to run a 2 day physical activity event at our school.

The team were well organised, efficient, well prepared. They worked well with our students. The team understood exactly what was needed in terms of supervision, engagement in activities for students, they kept a firm yet fun approach and students really enjoyed the activities which were put on for them.

The variety of activities on offer was great. The team’s ability to react and adapt in adverse weather conditions put all of our minds at ease too. Thank you for a fabulous two days!
