• Machine learning, signal processing, and cognitive systems for applications in audio, multi-media, senor data, monitoring, biomedical, data/web-mining, and pattern recognition.Teaching

• Lecturer in undergraduate and graduate courses on statistical signal processing, audio infor-mation processing, and learning based methods.• Supervisor and co-supervisor for 32 PhD students.• Supervisor and co-supervisor for 82 MSc projects.• Supervision of numerous BSc projects as well as independent course students.• More than 60% carried out in collaboration with industrial partners, application holders, andend-users.Innovation

• Facilitation of knowledge facilitate knowledge dissemination and innovation through most re-cent research projects that involves private enterprises, organization, and stake-holders. Thisincludes strategic research projects such as CoSound, MUSE, and XSense.• Industrial PhD projects with private companies (MAN B&W Diesel, Foss, Nokia, Widex).• Carrying out more than 60% of master and bachelor projects are carried out in collaborationwith problem-holders.• Host and manager of the Danish Sound Innovation Network (2009-). Danish Sound is partof the national innovation infrastructure under Innovation Networks Denmark supported byThe Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation. The main activity is facilitationof collaboration between Danish knowledge institution and industry though eighteen di�erentservices o�ered to the members.
