1. New hard ware device like Mic,Speakers,pendrive etc can be plugged in the appropriate slots
2. Generally system automatically detects thedevice and install the respective driver, if it isnot installed otherwise installs it
3. Unplug the device only after proper shutdown.

You cant find a File- Mistyped File name
- Incorrect Folder name in which file is being searched
- File accidentally / intentionally deleted( Check in Recycle Bin as probability of repetition of
same accident is very rare)

Once a virus is run, it can impactmemory, affect performance,modify dataor delete files. Some viruses can wipe out
hard disks or make them inaccessible.Viruses also result in significant wastedresources dealing with the problem.

How do viruses spread?
By diskette, network, e-mail or Internetdownloads.
Occasionally, they are accidentally spread withinpackaged S/W.
Boot sector viruses spread when a userinadvertently boots his system from aninfected floppy disk
Macro viruses can spread by simply opening an
infected document.
Viruses cannot spreadon their own and must be run (orexecuted) by someone to cause damage .

How toprotectyour system?
Do not use virus infected floppies.
Write protect your floppies, whenbeing read only.
Use original copy of the S/Wprocured from reliable sources.
Do not loan your program disk.
Do not let anyone use your systemwith external floppies.

Start the system in standalone (Safe) mode.Run anti virus program and try to
retrievethe data (if required, takeprofessional help) If virus persists, format the hard disk.

Check CPU fan, case fan and power box fan,make sure all are working and clean off dust.Check hard drive, CPU, power supply for overheating. Some video cards may also heat up and
create excessive heat inside the case. Makesure that the case is kept cool, by maintaininggood air flow.
Scan hard drive for bad sectors.
Make sure all devices are functioning properlyare plugged in. Unplug any faulty device.
Unplug any new devices or software installed.

PCrestarts while inuse
One problem could be bad RAM, replaceRAM and restart machine. Open upresource hungry applications like Office,
Photoshop, many instances of internetexplorer until all the ram is used up. Ifsystem doesn't freeze or restart .
Check capacitors on motherboard makesure that they aren't bulging, leaking, orburned. If they are - that's the problem.
Scan for viruses.

Delete Unwanted files
Avoid keeping of same fileunless it is essentially required.
File sharing overLAN
Use proper password for thesystem, and should not be sharedwith anyone to preventunauthorised person.
Keep system locked, through
password even if you are goingout for a short time.
Password at folder level forsharing the files over networkshould be given unless they are tobe made available to all.
Dont give share permission onthe Network, whenever requiredit may given but for a limitedtime only.
Dont give update rights to
