HOW TO PLAYMemory (1 player):

• Choose the green, red or purple card set. • Lay out all the cards face down.• Turn over one pair at a time. If they match, set them aside, if they don’t turn them back over.• Continue until all the cards are matched.• Time your student to see how fast they can match all the pairs together. • Repeat (immediately or at next lesson) and try to beat the time.

Memory (2 players):• Choose the green, red or purple card set. • Lay out all the cards face down.• Take turns to turn over one pair at a time. If they match, set them aside, if they don’t turn them back over.• Continue until all the cards are matched.• The winner is the one with the most pairs at the end.

Snap! (2 players):• Choose the green, red or purple card set. • Shuffle the cards and divide into two equal piles, one for each player.• Players take turns to turn over a card into a central pile.• If the card matches the previous card, either player can shout “SNAP!” and put their hand on the card pile.• The first player to say “SNAP!” wins all of the turned over cards, and adds them to her/his pile.• The winner is the first to win all the other cards, or the one with the most cards when time is up.

ASSEMBLYTo assemble this game:

• Print out the game cards (pages 3-10) double sided. • Cut along the dotted lines.• Laminate if desired.

LEARNING OBJECTIVESMusical Alphabet Memory helps reinforce the names of the piano keys and is especially useful with young beginners.
