Welcome to the 13th Annual iNAPS Conference in San Diego!

Dear Conference Attendees,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 13th Annual International Association of Peer Supporters Conference in San Diego. Our theme this year is “Daring to Rise!” Daring to Rise may mean different things to various individuals. To me, it means that I am going to emphasize the value of sharing my lived experience, that I belong in healthcare and other community organizations as a peer supporter with respect that is equal to other professionals in the field. We have been a growing workforce for twenty years or more and have supported improved outcomes for individuals facing difficult challenges. Our outcomes are outcomes of wellness, recovery, inclusion, a good quality of life, building communities.

iNAPS aim is to engage with our peer support workforce in organized and strategic manner as a guild association representing peer support specialists, recovery coaches, recovery or peer support supervisors and administrators and any number of positions that peer supporters fill using their gift of lived experience.

We will be introducing our National Principles of Supervision of Peer Support at this year's conference which represents an ambitious year of development by a dedicated committee of board members and members.

We also have a line-up of engaging keynote speakers and workshops that will offer the opportunity to experience some of the latest developments in peer support. Networking, or making new colleagues and friends is always another key component of this conference. We have evening events for you if you want to be engaged in some enjoyment and fun.

We thank you for taking the time and effort to attend and for supporting iNAPS in its mission to promote inclusion of peer support across all healthcare and community organizations worldwide. We want to continue and increase support of our workforce inways that move peer support forward towards greater acceptance and inclusion of peer support nationally and internationally.

We hope you enjoy the conference and leave with renewed energy and ideas to continue your important work!
