Internal Social Networks (ISN)

External social networks (ESN) • open/public and available to all web users to communicate• can be smaller specialized communities or they can be large generic social networking sites

• Users can upload a picture of themselves

• Create a 'profile'

• Can often be "friends" with other users– Typically need to have mutual "agreement"

before friends

• Privacy controls: who can see your profile, contact you, etc.
