To that end, MIOSHA and CAM hereby form an Alliance to provide CAM members and others with informaon, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect the health and safety of workers, parcularly by reducing and prevenng exposure to workplace hazards and addressing construcon-related issues, and understand the rights of workers and the responsibilies of employers under the Michigan Occupaonal Safety and Health Act (MIOSH Act). The primary alliance goals are as follows: Alliance Promoon: To promote the dialogue of safety and health to employers and employees in the State of Michigan. To encourage work parcipaon in workplace safety and health through improved awareness, cooperaon, and cooperaon, and promoon of both MIOSHA and CAM programs and services to the enre construcon industry. The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) and The Construction Association of Michigan

(CAM) recognize the value of establishing a collaborative relationship to foster safer and more healthful Michigan work-

August 9, 2005 - Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth Director David C. Hollister

today announced the signing of a strategic alliance between the Construction Association of

Michigan (CAM) and the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) to

protect the safety and health of Michigan's construction workers.

August 9, 2009 - The Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) and the Michigan Occupational Safety

and Health Administration (MIOSHA) renewed their formal alliance ) to protect the safety and health

of Michigan's construction workers.

August 2, 2012 - The Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) and the Michigan Occupa-

tional Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) renewed their formal alliance today to protect

the safety and health of Michigan's construction workers. The MIOSHA program is part of the

Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).

January 7, 2016 – The Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) and the Michigan Occupa-

tional Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) renewed their formal alliance today. The

emphasis on worker education and safety through collaboration between industry and regulatory

resources remains a predominant theme of MIOSHA’s Alliance program.

July 15, 2016 - The Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) and the Mid-America OSHA

Education Center signed a formal agreement allowing CAM to serve as a host site offering

OSHA authorized outreach training programs.

Areas of Emphasis:

The Construction Association of Michigan signed an alliance with the Michigan Occupational Safety &

Health Administration (MIOSHA). The goal of the alliance partners is to increase communication within

the construction industry and collaboration between CAM and MIOSHA; promote increased safety and

health awareness by using all of CAM’s marketing mediums; foster worker safety and health through

education and training opportunities at the jobsite; and facilitate safety and health hazard surveys by

the Consultation, Education, and Training (CET) Division of MIOSHA.
