Unless otherwise designated by the Commissioner, the maximum legal width of vehicles is
restricted to 96 inches; however, 102 inch wide equipment is permitted on bi-directional
roadways if the lane widths are 10 feet or greater.
Unless otherwise designated by the Commissioner, a combination of vehicles may not
consist of more than two units, and no combination of vehicles including any load thereon
shall have an overall length, inclusive of front and rear bumpers, in excess of 55 ft.

FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION
A motor vehicle including any load thereon, may not exceed a length of 40 feet extreme
overall dimension, inclusive of front and rear bumpers, except that a motor home may
not exceed a length of 45 feet, exclusive of front and rear bumpers.
Maximum legal height 13 feet-6 inches.
Maximum legal width 102 inches.
Allow Truck Tractor-Semitrailer combinations where the Semitrailer is not longer than
48 feet unless Semitrailer has an axle spacing of not more than 37 feet between the rear
axle of the Truck Tractor and the front axle of the Semitrailer, in which case the
semitrailer may be not more than 53 feet in length
Allow Truck Tractor-Semitrailer-Trailer combinations where neither the Semitrailer nor
the Trailer is longer than 28 feet.
No overall length limitation imposed for Truck Tractor-Semitrailer or Truck Tractor-
Semitrailer-Trailer combinations.
A combination of vehicles coupled by saddle-mount device used to transport motor
vehicles is limited to an overall length of 75 feet. In addition, a combination of two
vehicles one of which is a motor home, travel trailer or folding camping trailer may not
exceed an overall length, exclusive of front and rear bumpers, of 65 feet.
Reasonable access from designated routes to or from points of loading and unloading,
terminals, facilities for fuel, food, repairs and rest restricted to 2 miles or less.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 identified above, as well as,
Subject to the exceptions identified in item #7, a combination of vehicles including any
load thereon, inclusive of front and rear bumpers, shall be limited to 70 feet. (Note: the
provisions of item #6 only apply to Interstate and other National Network roadways and
those highways providing reasonable access to those facilities).
