•BEACHES

Where land meets sea is where the magic of Barbados is found. One of the island’s most pristine beaches, Saint Peter’s Bay is a protected wonder attracting marine life, including the majestic Hawksbill turtle which lay their eggs on our beach. Beach chairs, umbrellas and beach butler service are available to guests, and the recommended area for swimming at Saint Peter’s Bay is the sandy area off the south end of the beach. It is impossible for those seeking the perfect tropical paradise to stay with us and not be enchanted by our magical ever changing sunsets.

At Port Ferdinand, guests enjoy beach time in the white sands to the west of the bridge where lounge chairs, umbrellas and bar service are available. The azure waters of the Caribbean greet and refresh you with an average year-round temperature of approximately 25 degrees Celsius. Just off shore kids of all ages (and we mean ALL ages) can enjoy the floating playground with a trampoline, launch pad, slide and more.

• POOLS

Lounge beside the 160 foot long lagoon style pool at Saint Peter’s Bay which meanders through the beachfront of the resort providing many pool side areas of privacy. Poolside butler and lunch service is provided from The Gazebo Bar & Grill close by.

The pool at Port Ferdinand is beautifully located in the centre of the marina on the pool island. Here is where guests come to enjoy a sunset drink, casual lunch, sunbathe on the pool deck or relax in the pool. This amenity island offers a variety of leisure activities and daytime fun. In addition to full bar and food service from the Quarterdeck Bar & Pizzeria, towels, lounge chairs and umbrellas are provided.

Sailing*That moment when the wind fills your sail, lines go taut, and the boat groans as it explodes forward ... this is the sailor’s rush. If you know that rush and are experienced on the water, Sun Fish and Laser sailboats are available for you to take out and enjoy. For those who would like to learn, sailing instruction is offered daily.

Skiing & WakeboardingIf excitement and thrills are on your agenda, then consider getting out on the water for Skiing and Wake Boarding. Riding on the calm, crystal, west coast waters behind “Fundango,” our Scout speedboat, experts can shred and trick it out to the max while lessons are available for newcomers.

Banana & Biscuit RideJust as much fun, though not as intense as skiing and wake-boarding, tubing on our Banana and Biscuit inflatables is a great, group water activity. The Banana carries up to six riders and the Biscuit holds three. The object – and the fun – is not to fall off as our captain pulls you behind the “Funseeker” with a goal to get you wet.

Wave RunnersGet your adrenaline surging as you race along the coastline piloting one of our sleek Wave Runners. Cruise the open waters, hit the waves and have a blast on a one- or two-person craft.

Hop aboard our water taxi and enjoy views of our beautiful coastline as your travel in relaxed “island style” to and from nearby restaurants, beaches, shopping and UNNA Resorts. For your comfort while traveling, chilled water and sunblock are available. The water taxi runs each day from 10am to 4pm, and travels from Port Ferdinand to Saint Peter’s Bay with stops in between. SnorkellingWater is life, and the world beneath Barbados’ seas thrives in a rich, colorful pageant. We encourage you to explore our abundant marine life and reefs, and provide complimentary snorkelling equipment for your enjoyment. children of all ages. A “Kids Only” recreation center – sorry, Mom

and Dad, you’ll need to go find your own fun – trained and

From climbing to splashing to swinging in between, play areas

include a swashbuckler swing set with wave slide, rock wall

with climbing rope, clatter bridge, belt swings, trapeze swing,

sandboxes, tic-tac-toe panel, and a waterfall splash zone. This

safe and secure facility is open daily from 9am to 5pm.

Welcoming children aged 3 to 17, The Pirates Den is an indoor

play centre full of fun. Trained and certified child care profes-

sionals oversee all the action which includes a “Lil Mates”

Station, Xbox and Wii; Foosball table; Pinball machine; Art easel

and “Bean Bag Beach” where kids can chill and enjoy a movie

The Marina at Port Ferdinand

Port Ferdinand Marina is designed and engineered to serve as one of the most advanced boating facilities in

the southern Caribbean. Featuring 120 berths and offering a wide range of services and amenities

including an on-site Dock Master, Concierge and Marine Services, this Marina also serves as a haven for

a range of sea life. Among its many advanced engineering features, this sheltered marina is outfitted with

a floating wave attenuation system designed to prevent large or storm-driven waves from causing hull or

craft damage. Fueling, customs and immigration services are available nearby.

Enchanting TurtlesDuring the months from May through October, and sometimes in

the months in between, we welcome the majestic Hawksbill

turtle which lays it’s eggs on our beach at Saint Peter’s Bay.

At this very special time of year we encourage our guests to

report any turtles nesting or hatching to our team as we work

with the Barbados Sea Turtle Project to help protect these

wonderful and endangered creatures. For more than 25 years,

The Barbados Sea Turtle Project has played an active role in

conservation of the endangered marine turtle species that

forage around and nest on Barbados through research,

education and public outreach as well as monitoring of nesting

females, juveniles and hatchlings.

Our guests are welcome to observe turtles nesting and hatching

while they are here, or to help release hatchlings with the

assistance of representatives from the Barbados Sea Turtle

Project. Contact our Concierge to register your interest so we

hatchling releases.

We also highly recommend having us arrange a water taxi trip

for you and your family to swim with a family of turtles close by.

Glass Bottom Boat ToursWestwater Adventures is your choice for glass bottom tours with the

“Shamon Too.” This specially designed boat will cruise you along the

ApesHill is one of the Caribbean’s newest championship courses. This par 72, 7150 yard track enjoys a prime location roughly 1,000 feet above sea level. The views are spectacular, and the setting of lush gardens, coral stone quarries, wooded ravines and sparkling lakes makes it an exciting and inspiring challenge.

Harrison’s CaveAt the heart of Barbados lies one of its greatest wonders, Harrison’s Cave. Located in the central uplands of the island, this breathtakingly beautiful, crystallised limestone cavern is a testament to nature’s mastery. Flowing streams, deep pools of crystal clear water and towering columns characterise this living cave. Gaze in wonder at the white flow stones and in awe at the beauty of the speleothems which adorn the cave.

Horse RacingThe Historic Garrison Savannah “The Garrison” has been the home of Barbados horse racing since 1845. The history and tradition of the track make it fun for all. Races are held from January to April, May to September and November to December.

g ShoppingHistoric Holetown is located just a short car ride away from our UNNA Resorts and is the prime location for shopping. There is an array of duty-free shops so we recommend you take your passport and ticket with you. Limegrove Lifestyle Centre is one of the most exciting new retail centers on the island, and has quickly established itself as “the stylish place” to shop, dine and lime for locals and visitors alike. “The Centre” is home to many of the world’s leading retailers including Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Cartier, and Michael Kors and also features an ultra-modern cinema.

SpeightstownFew places in the Caribbean have preserved and honored their historic colonial heritage like Speightstown or “Little Bristol” as it is often called. An old trading town, Speightstown has retained its old-world charm which is proudly showcased at historical attractions such as the wonderful Arlington House Museum nestled among the traditional shops of the fishing village. Fresh, local fruits and vegetables are brought in each day from inland farms and sold along the main street. Our water taxi provides service to Speightstown, which is located less than half a mile from our UNNA Resorts.

St. Nicholas AbbeySt. Nicholas Abbey was built in 1660 and is one of only three genuine Jacobean mansions in the Western Hemisphere. Step back in history with a tour of this magnificent great house and the rum and sugar museum housing artifacts from the Plantation’s 350 year history. Sample some St. Nicholas Abbey rum and learn how it is produced on property using the traditional distillation process that made Barbados rum famous over 350 years ago.
