Step 1: Find the existing document files


• What format are they in? Hardcopy, word-processing, spreadsheet, Portable document format “pdf”, other

• Determine if this is an editable file, In other words can we make changes directly to the contents of the file.

• Had to convert the files such that they could be edited.

• Used a file conversion program.

Step 2: Example file to be converted

The file has now been made editable and can now be opened in an application so changes can be made.

Step 3: File is converted and made editable.

However, the file has displaced text and format. Things are not aligned. A bit scrambled.

With the use of a software application program, i.e. “Microsoft WORD”, file is edited/revised.

Step 4: Converted file imported into a word-processing program.

* In some cases this can take some time. But may still same time in the long run.
