How to use this book
Follow these steps for each recipe:
1. You will need a pencil, rubber and some colours.2. An English / Spanish dictionary is useful but not essential.3. Select a recipe.4. Read the adjectives, verbs and expressions on the first page and review thevocabulary on the second page. Read them out loud and practice saying them.(Remember, you can also listen to Arthur & Nerea on the CD or online) 5. Wash your hands.6. Put on your apron.7. Read and prepare the ingredients for your chosen recipe*.8. Complete the instructions for your chosen recipe.*
*Arthur’s 1st Tip: You can count the number of letters for the missing words.(For example, _ _ _ has three letters.)
*Arthur’s 2nd Tip: The missing word is “highlighted in red” on the opposite
page.

Utensils:a large bowl, a knife,a grater, a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ,a woodenspoon,a _ _ _ plate
In a big _ _ _ _ , add the minced beef, onion and _ _ _ _ _ _ , mix together.
Grate the _ _ _ _ of the lemon and/or orange/satsuma and add to the beefmixture.
_ _ _ _ _ the apple (skin and flesh) and add to beef mix.
Mix all the ingredients together,using a_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ or your hands.(The children love this part!)
Add the whole _ _ _ and mix together. Add spices and seasoning _ _ _ _ _ __ _ _ _ _.
NOTE: If the mixture is too _ _ _ you can add some breadcrumbs.
Divide the mixture and make into balls (small for children and bigger for theadults).
Put the balls of meat to cool in the _ _ _ _ _ _ , just before cooking flatten theminto burger shapes.
Fry in a small amount of _ _ _ until cooked through.
Best cooked on the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ in the open air!
Fruitburgers
500 g de carne picada1 cebolla pequeña picada finamente y frita1 diente de ajo picado y frito (opcional) 1 huevo1 limón (opcional)1 manzana1 naranja o 1 mandarina (opcional)Una ramita de cilantro o perejil (opcional)Sal y pimienta
Utensilios: un tazón grande, un cuchillo, un rallador, una sartén, una cucharade madera, un plato grande
En un tazón grande, añade la carne picada, la cebolla y el ajo y mézclalosbien.
Ralla la cáscara del limón y/o naranja/satsuma y añade a la carne picada.
Ralla la manzana (sin pelarla) y añade a la mezcla de carne.
Mezcla todos los ingredientes con una cuchara de madera o con las manos(¡a los niños les encanta esta parte!)
Añade el huevo entero y mézclalo bien. Añade las especias y los condimentosa tu gusto.
NOTA: Si la mezcla está demasiado húmeda, se puede añadir un poco depan rallado.
Divide la masa en trozos y crea bolas (pequeñas para los niños y más grandespara los adultos).
Mete las bolas en la nevera para enfriarlas, y justo antes de cocinar aplástalaspara crear la forma de hamburguesa.
Freír en un poco de aceite hasta que estén bien cocinadas.
¡Se recomienda hacerlas en la barbacoa al aire libre!

Homemade Lemonade
Usando un pelador de patatas, pela la cáscara de los limones, en tiras anchas
Agrega las tiras de cáscara de limón en una jarra resistente al calor
Añade el azúcar a la jarra
Añade 750 ml de agua hervida
Remueve hasta que el azúcar se haya disuelto
Deja enfriar
Cuando el líquido se enfríe, retira la cáscara de limón
Corta los limones pelados por el medio
Exprime el zumo de los limones en la jarra
¡Cuantos más más limones se utilicen, más fuerte será el sabor!
¡Sirve en un vaso grande con mucho hielo!

Utensilios: una jarra grande- resistente al calor, un pelador de patatas, una cuchara de madera, un hervidor de agua, un cuchillo

Catalan Cream
150 grams of sugar8 egg yolk
40 grams of cornflour1 stick cinnamon
grated rind of 1/2 lemon and 1/2 orange1 litre of milk
Utensils: a saucepan, wooden spoon, a sieve, ramekins, a potato peeler,a bowl
Put the milk to slowly boil in a saucepan together with the cinnamon stick and citrus rinds.
When it starts to boil, remove from heat and let stand for a few minutes.
Meanwhile, separate the egg yolks.
Whisk together the egg yolks, sugar and cornflour, avoiding any lumps.
Remove the cinnamon and citrus zest/peel from the milk and return to theheat. Pass through the sieve.
When it boils again, reduce the heat to minimum, and slowly pour in the eggyolk mixture.
Stir with a wooden spoon, always in the same direction, until the liquid beginsto thicken.
Once again, pass the custard through the sieve and divide into small servingbowls.
Allow to cool in the fridge.
Crema Catalana

Pon la leche a hervir lentamente en una _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ junto con la rama decanela y las pieles de los cítricos.
