January 16 - 25, 2019The Gondar, Ethiopia Sister Cities program for Montgomery County was established in 2012 as a means to strengthen ties between the Ethiopian community in Maryland and Ethiopia.

Gondar, Ethiopia is one of Montgomery County’s prominent Sister Cities that continue to foster community engagement through events, fundraisers, mission trips and partner relations.

The Montgomery County Sister City group will explore cities such as Addis Ababa, Bahir Dar and Gondar. We will visit historical churches, mosques, museums, meet with prominent community

leaders, and engage in community service projects all while soaking in the Ethiopian culture during Timket Festival!
