Cimarron AlwaysWelcomes New Club & Community Members!

Know somebody looking for a great club to join or a beautiful community to build their new home?

Let us know!

Tammy Schneider Director of Membership / Marketing512.763.8712 [email protected]

Judie Allen Cimarron Hills Realtor512.763.8708 [email protected]

WWW.CimarronHills.com is now one-year old. The system and our Host, Members First, continue to improve the capabilities and convenience of our Member Home Page. Please take a few minutes and review some of the basic tools the website provides. I have included a quick Q&A regarding the most commonly asked questions.

I am not receiving e-mails from the club, am I registered? Please enter the website and visit the “My Profile” option on the left hand side of the Member Home page. Here, you can manage all information in your profile. Update phone numbers, e-mail addresses, mailing addresses and other personal information. You can also include birthday and anniversary information which is always information that we like to have here at the club. We are always happy to make the changes for you if you provide us with the information you would like posted on the web-site. The directory is not viewable by the public, only members.

My family does not have a Golf Membership but I continue to receive golf information. You can visit the “My Preferences” area of the website located on the Member Home page. Under this section, you can change your password, hide information from the viewable member directory and select which departments you would like to receive information from. If there are no selec-tions made here, you will receive all club communications from Cimarron Hills.

How does the RSVP system work on our web-site? Once logged in to the web-site, you can RSVP for any event that allows on-line RSVP. Our management team will go through and confirm you reservation and you will receive an e-mail with the confirma-tion. If you decide to cancel your reservation, go to the same area you’re RSVP’d and select “cancel registration”. Again, you will receive a confirmation from the club that your cancellation has been received. From the Club Calendar, you can download your events to your Outlook calendar by making that selection. Please utilize the notes section of your RSVP to communicate any spe-cial details regarding your reservation (high chairs, anniversaries, birthdays, etc.).

How can I access important Club Documents? Once logged into the website, select “Club Information” then “Club Documents”. Under this section of the web-site, you can find vehicle security forms, membership plan, turf care calendar and otherimportant documents. If you would like to see something added to this area, please let us know.

Who manages our HOA? There is a tab “HOA” on the Member Home page. It gives all of the information that you will need to contact Certified Management of Austin, LLC. CMA is our current HOA manager. Hours of operation, phone numbers and e-mail address areprovided for your convenience. Also listed under HOA is a neighborhood information packet, architectural guidelines for building or remodeling, CC&R’s, current / conceptualmasterplans, design checklist and HOA management certificates.

Please contact Tammy Schneider, Cimarron Hills Membership / Marketing Director, with anyquestions you may have regarding the website. We are always looking for ways to improve our communication. Phone: 512.763.8712 or [email protected]

Taking Good Care of Our Hands...As we age the hands fall victim to thinning skin, dehydration and elas-tin breakdown contributing to the hands looking old. To add insult to injury regular UV radiation, repeated hand washing and the repeated use of cleaning products with caustic agents all add up to our hands possibly looking older than they are. Although the intrinsic factors on the hands are inevitable, there are strategies we can put in place to avert the outside factors that cause the hands damage. Of course the first is regular sunscreen, we all know that. But what about treating the hands like we do the face? When putting on your facial products, use the remaining facial lotion for the hands. Hand and arm treatments that use chemical peel solutions like vitamin A and AHA’s are also an option and lastly body lotions with a 12% lactic acid are not only good for hydrating and smoothing the hands but the entire body, just don’t forget the UV protection.

Start your Christmas shopping early at Cimarron Hills! The Cimarron Spa, Tennis and Golf Shop will have great deals for everyone on your list. Stay and enjoy Chef Brian's

delicious Italian Buffet and Eloy's truly fantastic Peppermint Martini! Do you want to be the winner of the Cimarron Hills Christmas Prize Pack valued at over $300? RSVP by November 30th, 9pm. When you arrive at the club on December 2nd, you will receive your "Six-Days of Cimarron Christmas" scavenger card. Complete all of the six tasks on the Christmas card by the end of the evening and you will be placed in the drawing for the prize. Only adult members please and the offer is limited to one per person and your RSVP is the first task on the Christmas Scavenger Card. Other tasks include: visiting the tennis & golf shops, Cimarron Spa, member Christmas Bazaar and

joining us for dinner!

Help Make Someone’s Christmas Jolly

Last year a few ladies’ were gracious enough to sponsor gifts for some elderly nursing home residents. We are again looking at sponsoring 15 residents. Each resident will submit a list of items that they need. The items are very minimal and usually consist of lotion, slippers, blankets and calendars. If you would like to adopt a resident, please call Tammy Schneider, 763-8712, and she can get you the information.

Tennis Tips From the ProfessionalsThe Tennis Season is Over...Now What?

The league season is over now and you may be left wondering what to do next. I always recommend that players take a week off from playing, but don’t sit idle too long! If you’re really looking to im-prove before the next season starts (early February) then you should begin a strength building program, ideally in the first month of your off season. Your focus should be on building overall strength and cardio endurance off the court while focusing on technique and shot production on the court. Many players won’t even consider mak-ing changes midseason to grips or strokes so this winter break seize the opportunity of not having to worry about winning the point and rather focus on taking your game to the next level. The first months focus is high volume – lots of balls, lots of weight bearing exercises. January should see you shift your focus to lower volume – more spe-cific exercises. This means in the weight room, lower weights with more explosive reps and on the court, target practice and point play. Use this time to be specific with what you are trying to accomplish! Practice with purpose! Mike and I are already working hard with a few players and they are making great progress. If you would like help, get in touch with me for a very specific program aimed at tak-ing you and your game to the next level!

Here’s to improving your performance! Kelly Marshall, Head Tennis Professional
