“ The marketing experience I gained in China helped me secure a position in advertising at one of Canada’s top telecommunication companies upon my return. Having work experience in China on my resume helped differentiate me from other candidates and always made for a great conversation starter in the interview process. Personally, I have also seen growth in myself because living abroad in a country where you do not speak the mother tongue helps you become more independent and resourceful. Being able to experience the booming economy in China first hand has helped me develop my future business plans, which includes conducting international business in China and India.”

ShanghaiShanghai epitomizes East meets West as China’s most international and cutting-edge city. The city symbolizes modern China, leading the way in fashion, fine dining and trendy bars and clubs. Its distinctive architecture and atmosphere mixes modern day icons with the quaint and historic streets of the French Concession and old Shanghai. Stroll along the waterfront at the Bund or visit the famous flower, bird and insect markets and watch old men taking their caged birds for a walk.

BeijingBeijing is China’s capital city and is rich in culture, history and tradition. It has been China’s center of art, culture and politics for centuries. You can take a walk through the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, have a reflective moment at the Temple of Heaven, visit the ultra-modern Sanlitun shopping village, or go on a day trip to one of the seven wonders of the world; the Great Wall.

Hong KongHong Kong is a Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, located on the southern coast of China enclosed by the Pearl River Delta and South China Sea. With its Chinese roots, colonial connections and home-grown talent, Hong Kong is full of possibilities. This is Asia’s culinary capital, from wonton noodles and freshly steamed dim sum, to Shanghainese, Vietnamese, Japanese and European cuisines. In terms of shopping: every whim, need and pocket is catered for. But beyond the soaring skyscrapers, and the glass and the steel, over 70% of Hong Kong is mountains, sprawling country parks and surf-beaten beaches. Unique and yet globally connected, Hong Kong is proud to call itself “Asia’s World City”.

Shenzhen Shenzhen is a major city in the south of China, and only a 45 minute train journey to Hong Kong. The area became China’s first, and one of the most successful, Special Economic Zones. The bustling, vibrant city is not only home to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, but also the headquarters of numerous high-tech and finance companies from around the world. Enjoy the sub-tropical climate of Shenzhen whilst visiting the cities excellent theme parks.
