Links and Images

Proper linking on PowerPoint presentations is easy. Most of the time, you can just type a webpage or email address and after you hit the space bar or finish a sentence, the program will automatically generate a link.

Make sure that you do not use underlines to emphasize text. Some screen readers will look to identify underlined text as a link.

Other Considerations

• Empty ALT text on background images• Word Art is converted into an image• Chart and graphics ALT image text• Sufficient font size and contrast• Avoid automatic slide transitions and animations• Reading order of added text boxes• Proper captioning or transcript of video/audio• Webpage or Presentation?
