Cristo Rey High School Cristo Rey High School Sacramento provides a Catholic, college preparatory education to motivated students with limited financial means. The school’s goal is to break the cycle of poverty and help students re-imagine themselves as successful and productive leaders who will benefit their families and the community. All students participate in a unique Work-Study program, learning professional work skills and generating income to offset the cost of their education. The school embodies MERCY, GOODNESS and SERVICE, transforming lives now and for the future. Cristo Rey serves 240 motivated, hard-working students in grades nine through 12 from Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, San Joaquin and El Dorado counties. Ethnic representation of the 2010-11 classes is 88 percent Hispanic; four percent multicultural; three percent Asian; three percent Caucasian; and two percent African American. The student body is evenly divided among males and females. How you can helpCristo Rey High School seeks to expand enrollment to 400 students and enhance its existing curriculum. Philanthropy is critical to the school’s ability to grow its program and meet the educational needs of its growing number of students. Current areas for support include:

• Scholarships to assist deserving students with tuition

• Student retreats for all classes

• Spanish, literature and theology textbooks for all classes

• Physics laboratory

• Three new vans to transport the school’s growing student body to work sites

• Sponsorships for freshman Summer Institute faculty and instructors

• Athletic equipment

• Teaching aids, including LCD projectors for all classrooms and laptop computers for every faculty member

• Graduation sponsorships to fund caps, gowns and class rings for seniors
