YOUR FINANCIAL PROTECTIONOur monthly magazine presents to you a selection of the best offers we can find both as a retail agent acting on behalf of the cruiselines, those we have put together as a tour operator, and other offers where you are able to tailor-make your own non-package holiday.

Offers on pages 13 / 14 / 18 / 22 / 23 / 24 / 26 are full packages offered by the cruise lines, for which we act as an agent, and their terms and conditions of booking apply. We offer protection under our ABTA Bond (J1693) in respect of our solvency.

Other offers include packages we have put together, for which we hold an ATOL licence No: 6153 for your protection. Jetline Travel’s terms and conditions of booking apply.

Where you tailor-make your own non-package holiday we have acquired complete Supplier Failure Insurance for your protection and peace of mind. In some cases we have found the most convenient and best priced flight arrangements are with low cost airlines such as Easyjet, BMI Baby, Flybe, and Jet 2. In these instances we have illustrated the total cost of these holidays to include the current flight cost, but you would book the

flight directly with the flight operator, and their terms and conditions of booking would apply. For your convenience, and with your consent, we can book direct flights on your behalf using your credit or debit card details. The airfare element of these offers cannot be covered by our ATOL, but you are protected under our Supplier Failure Insurance. Such offers appear on pages 16 / 20.

In this months edition we are pleased to introduce two valued members of our team – Mark Mandizda and Hiral Karnik. You can find out a little more about them in the section below.

I joined the Jetline Cruise team after having served faithfully for 2 years in the Jetline Travel team specialising in land-based holidays. It was a challenge at first, having dealt with land holidays only, but it has been very worthwhile and I am enjoying every minute of working in the cruise department.

I have always loved travel as a career choice, which has afforded me the opportunity to visit many different countries and locations. I am looking forward to my first cruise to gain that vital first-hand experience. My ideal cruise would be on the Cunard Queen Mary 2. It looks a marvellous ship and I relish the thought of flying to San Francisco, spending 4 nights there sightseeing, 3 nights on the Amtrak train from San Francisco to New York and then 2 nights in New York (shopping geared more for my wife), and then cruising back on the QM2. That would really be heaven packed in a ship for me!

I have found it very interesting to learn about all the different cruise ships and am very keen and excited to see them all. So, by the end of this marvellous career, l can say that I have conquered all the ships!

I look forward to using my extensive travel experience to help you book your next holiday with Jetline Cruise.

Meet the Jetline Team

I have been with the Jetline group of companies since April 2007, initially as a Travel Consultant for land holidays in Jetline Travel. In August 2009 I moved to Jetline Cruise customer services where the hours facilitated my child care. I loved everything about the cruise industry, and in December 2009 when I was ready to return full-time, I joined the Jetline Cruise sales team.

All my experience in cruise customer services, particularly understanding the customer’s point of view, has been invaluable. I now get to help our customers first hand in bringing their dream holiday to life.

In my opinion there's nothing to beat a cruise holiday. It can be whatever you want, whether relaxing or full of adventure. You can set sail for a string of intriguing and exciting destinations whilst enjoying luxury and pampering en-route. You can turn up or lower the pace as much or as little as you like, depending on your mood.

The cruise that I would most love to do is a Transatlantic cruise from Southampton to New York on Cunard's Queen Mary 2; a couple of nights in New York, with loads of shopping in mind – then on to Miami and cruise back with Royal Caribbean on Jewel of the Seas; it would be perfect!

I look forward to helping you bring your dream holiday to life with Jetline Cruise.

impressive indeed with a sweeping marble staircase flanked by sheer floor to ceiling drapes. One of the many impressive features on this ship is the SS United States Restaurant, a wood panelled, speciality venue featuring hand-carved wood panelling reminiscent of transatlantic ocean liners of the past. This restaurant will whisk you back in time and specialises in the finest French cuisine with an extensive wine list. The Millennium Class fleet are resplendent with teak & glass accents. FINDINg ThE BEST SAVINgSWe believe we have

done all of the hard work for you already. By utilising our special Jetline discounts, all of

the offers featured in our magazine are priced lower than you could get direct from the cruise lines. For a number of offers we have enhanced the cruise with a land-based stay to offer a unique all-round holiday experience at surprisingly low prices. We compare available offers with similar cruises, across all cruise lines, and then select for a combination of best price, best itinerary and/or a more popular ship.

Cruise prices fluctuate constantly dependent upon demand, availability, fuel costs and airline fares. Our prices are based on the best deals of the day that we can find. But, something available today could have gone up in price tomorrow. It may be a cliché but – if you see something you like - book it now. In 2010 we experienced unprecedented demand for our best selling offers - the cruise lines and airlines then responded to this increased demand by raising fares.

gUARANTEE cABINSIf you are flexible and not fussy about cabin numbers and locations – you can pay a low price and possibly end up with a higher grade of cabin. Many cruise lines offer special promotional prices from time to time based on a non-specific grade of cabin, for passengers who can be flexible. These are referred to as guarantee cabins which do not have a specific cabin number, location or deck at the time of booking. These cabins are usually considerably cheaper than the lowest priced cabins with a specific

FlY cRUISESAll of our cruises departing from ports overseas include flights from London. London airports such as Heathrow and Gatwick are the main hub for the international routes of most airlines. As a result airfares from London tend to be much lower than those from regional airports. These can be lower still if flying indirectly such as via New York to Florida. This is perfect if you want to avoid the immigration queues at Miami and if you want to add on extra nights and visit the local area before continuing your flight.

For our members who live further away from London we are experienced in finding the best flight arrangements from your local airports at the lowest possible supplement. This may be by booking the full flight itinerary from your local airport, but usually the cheaper option is to simply add on a separate low cost flight to connect to the flight itinerary from London. If you are flexible then big savings can be made – for example using Easyjet from Liverpool instead of a BA flight from Manchester, or using Flybe from Belfast to Southampton.

AIRlINE lUggAgE AllOWANcESQuite often people come home with more luggage than they went with. This can have costly consequences if you exceed your airline luggage allowances. We recommend that you find out what these are before you travel. It is always much cheaper to pre-book excess luggage before you travel than by paying at the check-in desk. Another way of overcoming this is to consider our cruise holidays with no flights, or where you fly out but sail back to the UK, such as some of our Princess, Cunard Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria offers.

TAXI RANK V PREBOOKED TRANSFERFor cruises where the airport is not far from the cruise port -some of our lowest prices are achieved by sourcing airfares and hotels separately from the cruise fare. Savings of hundreds of pounds per person are made over the cost of the full package direct from the cruise line. The only tangible difference being that you have to make your own way in a taxi between the airport, hotel and port. We can pre-book transfers for you - but these often cost two or three times more than simply hailing a cab from the taxi rank outside the arrivals hall. Pre-booked transfers also take much longer - having to identify where the transfer desk is, waiting for transportation to become available, waiting for other passengers to join you and making a circuitous route if travelling to or from a hotel. Plus, by travelling in a private taxi you can beat the queues and get to your destination before the transfer coaches.

AIRPORT & PORT cAR PARKINgSave money and look out for FREE port car parking offers, which are usually Celebrity, Cunard or P&O. If not we can pre book your port or airport car park and this will usually save from £3-£6 per day instead of simply turning up on the day.

Budget Busting Ideas

location on the ship and deck number. Look out for interior, ocean view and balcony guarantee cabins at the time of booking. The cruise line will then allocate a specific cabin number shortly before your cruise, at the time the cruise documents are issued. Lots of cruisers have ended up with a higher grade of cabin than they would have had otherwise.

ThE BEST TIME TO BOOKEarly Booking Offers. When a brochure or new campaign is launched it is usually packed with some great early booking offers – such as free car parking, special discounts and on-board credit. These are ideal if you have specific requirements for your cabin grade, cabin location & cruise itinerary (especially if it is an unusual one). If you will be booking a family of three or four in one cabin during school holidays – it is particularly important to book early to avoid disappointment. Early booking offers are usually for cruises departing 6 months or more in the future. Many cruise lines are already preparing their new 2012 campaigns, and so many 2011 cruises are no longer being sold on an early booking basis, the best availability and launch offers having been sold last year. However P&O & Cunard have some amazing early booking offers for their 2012 world cruises and sectors (see pages 11 and 22). On Page 14 there are some attractive Winter exotic cruise offers on Cunard Queen Victoria.

In short -book early if you have specific requirements, or like something well-planned to look forward to.

late Offers. In our experience the best late booking offers are usually published by the cruise lines 12 – 4 weeks before departure. In this edition you will find lots of offers from April throughout the Summer and

Autumn. Prices are constantly changing and cruise lines are starting to worry about un-booked staterooms for early Summer. Now is the time to book cruises during this period, for example the bargains featured by P&O on page 10, the unusual cruises with Crown Princess on page 13 or the Med sale with Royal Caribbean on page 20. Also take advantage of the recently reduced prices on Celebrity Infinity to Alaska before they, and the Rockies train, sell out. In short - for a late deal BE FLEXIBLE and you will end up with a bargain.

Special Offers / Exclusives. These can be at any time of the year and are usually where we have found some really low cruise and/or flight prices, or formulated some incredible itineraries. Check out our cruise and stay holidays on the Queen Mary 2 and our complete Canada and New England experience on Royal Caribbean Explorer of the seas. The 2 Luxury icons of Cunard and the Venice Simplon Orient Express are offered as an exclusive holiday which, surprisingly, we have not found anywhere else. Also we have an amazing offer for January 2012 with Holland America Line to South America including Machu Picchu - see page 25. In short, if you see something you like – GRAB IT, as it won’t be around for long at the price.

ON-BOARD cREDIT OFFERSLook out for lots of offers with on-board spending money for things like drinks, speciality restaurants, on-board purchases and excursions. This helps to cut the cost of your overall holiday and means that you need less spending money. Take a look at our best selling on-board credit offer for NCL Jade to Venice and the Greek isles with FREE bathrobes on selected dates. Our Holland America South America Offer includes on-board spending money as does our special offer for New Year in New York with Cunard Queen Mary 2.

As you can imagine – being at the forefront of the cruise industry for many years, we have built up considerable and invaluable experience in pinpointing the best cruise offers in an extremely competitive market.

Here are some great ways of finding the right cruise at the best price, together with ideas on how to save money along the way and hopefully bust your budget.

"Save lots of money with

our great ideas!"

We have an amazing offer for January 2012 with Holland America Line to South America including Machu Picchu - see page 25

Book a guarantee cabin and you could receive a FREE upgrade

If you are flexible then big savings can be made on flights

Look out for FREE port car parking offers or pre book your car parking, instead of turning up on the day

canada & New England cruises offer a sophisticated, upmarket holiday where the discerning traveller can enjoy not only the

most beautiful scenery, but genuine hospitality. Traditionally, Canada & New England cruises operate within a very small season during September and October, when the foliage turns an incredible array of Autumn colours. Many cruises depart from New York, Boston or Quebec and offer the opportunity to combine a city break with your cruise.

There are a limited number of no-flying cruises to Canada & New England sailing from Southampton with Cunard Queen Mary 2 or with P&O. Our Niagara Falls stay-and-fly cruise holidays on Cunard Queen Mary 2 offer the opportunity to fly one way and cruise home, with prices starting from just £1,299pp. Have a look at our Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas offer from New York for the complete all round Autumn cruise experience including Niagara Falls, New York, Boston and Nova Scotia with prices starting from only £1,499pp.

The Crown Princess offers a series of 10 night cruise itineraries from New York to Quebec with an overstay on board in Quebec city. A round trip 14

ST JOhN’S NEW FOUNDlAND: This historic port is the capital of New Foundland and the oldest city in Canada dating back to the 16th century. The surrounding countryside is very scenic – Cape Spear and Petty Harbour are well worth a visit.

hAlIFAX NOVA ScOTIA: This is the closest Canadian port to Europe and has a dramatic coastline. For maritime historians Halifax will be one of the most memorable ports of call with its Museums and sea faring heritage. In fact Samuel Cunard was born here. For a quick flavour of Halifax visit Spring Garden Road which runs along the south edge of the Halifax Public Gardens and into the historic centre with its shops, bars and restaurants..

BAR hARBOR MAINE: This is one of the most popular New England ports for British visitors. Bar Harbor has the look of Old England coupled with rustic Cornwall with its rugged coastal walks. Here you will find the Acadia National Park with its lakes, forest and mountains. This is the ultimate place on your cruise to enjoy the myriad of red, russett, yellow and golden colours of the Fall season. Look out also for Cadillac Mountain and Thunder Hole on the coast.

NEWPORT RhODE ISlAND: The home of palatial mansions, incredible scenery, colonial streets and inviting vineyards. Visit 10 Mile Drive to gain a quick flavour and have a look at the Gothic Church of St Mary’s where JFK

and Jacqui Onassis were married. For a more relaxing and tranquil scene, visit lagoon–like Gooseberry Beach.

MAPlE lEAF TRAIN: Our best selling holidays to this part of the world incorporate the Maple Leaf Amtrak train running through scenic upstate New York, between Niagara Falls and Manhattan. The stunning scenery is non-stop from the flash of Broadway to the dramatic and magnificent Palisades. The journey takes you to the heart of what a these holidays are all about. This 11-hour journey allows us to effortlessly link up Niagara Falls with New York without having to fly back to Toronto. You also save time as cross-border immigration is completed en route on the train and you arrive into the heart of Manhattan at New York Penn station just one block from Macys and 2 blocks from the Empire State Building. This avoids flight delays, airport security and the traffic between airport and city. It is no wonder that this far less stressful and much more scenic way to travel has become extremely popular. The route includes the Adirondack Mountains, the spectacular Mohawk Valley region, the Finger Lakes & the western shore of Lake Ontario.

If you are a seasoned cruiser looking for somewhere different or if you appreciate spectacular scenery and love nature at its best, then a Canada & New England cruise is for you.

night cruise from New York including Quebec, Prince Edward Island and Sydney (Nova Scotia) is also available on Celebrity Summit. Quebec is reached via the St Lawrence River which flows from the Gulf of St Lawrence around the New Brunswick cape for approximately 150 Miles to Quebec City, then continues on past Montreal into Lake Ontario.

POPULAR PLACES TO VISIT:BOSTON MASSAchUSETTS: Home to 400 year old Harvard University, the Boston Tea Party, Cheers and Ally Mc Beal. The central area of Boston is called Back Bay where you will find the Copley Plaza shopping area, Boston Common, Faneuil Hall Market place and Beacon Hill. Beacon Hill runs along the north edge of Boston Common and is home to the original pub called Cheers. Faneuil Hall Market place is in between Boston Common and the River separating it from Logan International Airport. Faneuil Hall Market place is the bustling centre of Boston with lots of shops, bars and restaurants including the famous Irish pubs. Also in this area you will find the 18th Century Schooner “Liberty” used in the uprising against the British, The Boston Aquarium and

the site of the original Boston Tea Party which triggered the American War of Independence. The best way to learn about this historic centre of the USA is to follow the two and a half mile long Freedom Trail. This was the very route that Paul Revere took to warn of the British invasion of the city.

NIAgARA FAllS: The honeymoon capital of the world, where Lake Erie flows from the USA into Lake Ontario in Canada via the Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls. The Falls are best viewed from the Canadian side of the Niagara River where the Niagara Parkway runs alongside the River and affords the best views. The Fallsview Casino and shopping complex on the hill also presents an excellent vantage point and is well worth a visit, together with a trip up the Skylon Tower. No Visit to Niagara would be complete without a journey on the famous Maid of the Mist and a walk through the caves in “A Journey Behind the Falls”. In both cases you are supplied with a blue mac to protect you from the dramatic spray. For the more energetic, perhaps take an exciting Jet Boat Tour through the rapids and the mighty whirlpool - there are both dry and wet versions to choose from!

Cruise Industry NewsHere is the latest roundup of cruise industry news for this month. The trend has been for our members to take a late bargain break for a secondary holiday, or to invest early for a longer duration exotic destination as their main holiday for the year. Our product and pricing department is working overtime to process the non-stop offers and continuous price amendments being issued by the cruise lines in a bid to balance demand with supply. The other factors affecting price are the upward hikes in fuel surcharges and a surge in flight fares due to increased fuel costs and tax increases. All of theses factors are driving costs up, so today’s offer prices will inevitably be gone tomorrow.

Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. has signed a letter of intent with shipyard Meyer Werft to build the first of a new generation of Royal Caribbean International cruise ships. Developed under the code-name “Project Sunshine,” the new vessel design incorporates new and exciting features that take advantage of the best of Royal Caribbean International’s experience and imagination. The project is a result of over a year of dedicated research and development.

The order calls for one ship to be delivered in Autumn 2014 with an option for a second ship for Spring 2015. The 158,000 Gross Registered Tons (GRT) new build will carry just over 4,100 guests based on double occupancy.

“Royal Caribbean International has worked hard to earn a reputation of offering the most innovative ships in the cruise industry and this next generation will not disappoint,” said Richard D. Fain, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. “While we continue our policy of keeping our newest ideas and features under wraps during the early stages of construction, I can say that I am very excited about the passion and imagination that our teams have devoted to the project. Project Sunshine builds on the best ideas of our existing ships and adds exciting

new activities and entertainment concepts. It will offer features for everyone: from grand, spectacular spaces to small intimate settings; from active, invigorating activities to the serenity of more personal space; and from a plethora of dining alternatives to a cornucopia of opportunities for families. I am also excited about the energy efficiency and environmental technologies which have been incorporated. Our existing ships are some of the most energy efficient in the world and Project Sunshine takes this one further step. Based on over 20 years of experience with Meyer Werft, along with their compelling proposal, we know they will deliver on all of the innovations Royal Caribbean International’s guests have come to expect.”

“Meyer Werft is pleased to be working with Royal Caribbean International especially in light of their reputation for building such innovative ships. I am very happy we are continuing our long time partnership with Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and its brand, Royal Caribbean International. Their projects always present incredible opportunities for Meyer Werft to create the latest cutting edge hardware in the cruise industry,” said Bernard Meyer, managing partner of Meyer Werft shipyard.

Cunard’s newest ocean liner, Queen Elizabeth, arrived in Sydney for the first time in February, where she was met by sister ship Queen Mary 2. It was the first time the “Cunard Queens” had ever arrived into Sydney Harbour together. However, it was reminiscent of an earlier meeting when the original Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth, which were both then World War II troop ships, passed each other at Sydney Heads, the entrance to the harbor, on April 9, 1941.

Both ships are midway through their world voyages, Queen Elizabeth having sailed from New Zealand while Queen Mary 2 arrived from Adelaide. Cunard Managing Director, Peter Shanks, said the company was thrilled that the cruise line could stage another spectacular Royal Rendezvous in Sydney during Queen Elizabeth’s first world voyage.

“Sydney is always a highlight port for our Cunard world voyage guests but marking an historic Royal Rendezvous with our two Queens certainly adds to the attraction,” Shanks said.

A special remembrance service was held on board Queen Mary 2 as a tribute to “Australia’s Finest Generation”, many of whom sailed to war on the original Cunard Queens.

GREENWICH LONDON - The new up and coming cruise terminal

Greenwich is beginning to appear more and more on the port of call list for Northern European cruises. Greenwich is ideally placed just past the Thames Barrier and O2 Dome - close to Canary Wharf. Greenwich itself is a wonderful part of London to visit with lots of markets, antique shops, quaint buildings and Greenwich Park. It is also full of Maritime history with the National maritime museum and the home of the Cutty Sark.

Greenwich is situated just down river from Tower Bridge and the much shallower cruise terminal for the Port of London. Greenwich is ideally situated on the Jubilee line to visit central London and on the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) to visit canary Wharf and the city. Plus it is also conveniently situated just 4 stops from the Olympic Park at Stratford.

Enderby Wharf in Greenwich could be given the go ahead to be the cruise port for London following new development plans awaiting the go-ahead from Boris Johnson. The project has already been approved by Greenwich council, and work is expected to begin this year, subject to the mayor’s approval. There are hopes that the terminal will be finished in time for the Olympic Games.

It will have facilities for big cruise ships to dock, as well as the Thames Clipper service, and will also include 770 homes and 251-room hotel.

Look out for our new offer on board Azamara Journey Visiting Greenwich for 2 nights in May next year on its way from Amsterdam to Southampton. This will be part of its 12 night Chelsea Flower Show cruise.

tHE SHoPPIng: There are few places better to shop than in New York. In fact our best prices are just in time for some Christmas shopping or for the post Christmas, January sales. Most important – if you opt for an outbound flight, the beauty of sailing home rather than flying is that you will not be worrying about luggage weight restrictions whilst you shop! Stock up on cut price jeans at the Levis store on Lexington Avenue (opposite Bloomingdales) & look out for superb homeware stores, such as Crate & Barrel on Madison Avenue and Pottery Barn on Lexington & 59th with amazing goods that you simply must have. Tiffanys on 5th Avenue is a must, with the huge underground Apple Mac I-Pod store close by. Load up with bargains at Abercrombie & Fitch and Banana Republic on 5th Avenue. Visit Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Versace, Cartier, Armani, Dior and a whole host of designer stores nearby. For the Budget conscious Old Navy on 34th St opposite Macy’s is a must. Then there is Macy’s Dept Store just down the road from the Empire State Building and great for lunch!

tHE SIgHtSEEIng: There is so much to see in such a short space of time. The not-to-be-missed are: Central Park including the Bethesda Fountain & Strawberry Fields memorial. Have a look at the magnificent interior of Grand Central station. Hop on the subway down to 14th St Union Sq to visit the Flatiron building then carry on down to the Ground Zero site and Wall St. Visit Battery Park at the Southern tip of Manhattan and take some photos of the Statue of Liberty. If you have time - hop on a boat tour via the Statue of Liberty to the museum on Ellis Island. Take the blue AC subway over to Brooklyn and walk back to Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge for some incredible photos of the Manhattan Skyline. Visit the Empire State Building at sunset for magnificent views across the city as the evening lights twinkle to life. Finally, visit Times Square at night before seeing a show on Broadway.

EAStBoUnD: Fly direct to New York for a 2 night hotel stay - with no concerns about checking in and tiresome overnight flights home - your stay in New York is further enhanced. Join the Queen Mary 2 on a relaxing 7 night cruise back to Southampton.

wEStBoUnD: Depart from Southampton for 7 nights uninterrupted voyage to New York. An early morning arrival in tune with US time gives you a full day to explore the city on your first day in New York. Stay for 2 nights then fly direct home overnight. If you opt for the Westbound itinerary you will have about half a day more time than on an Eastbound itinerary.
