Friday, Sept. 14 Parking will be available to Fall Family Weekend guests in the C1 lot on Friday. All Fall Family Weekend guests parked in this lot must be moved no later than 2 a.m. or they will be towed.

Shuttle Service (Lot C1) 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.You can use the Clemson Transit to bring you from the C1 lot to the Hendrix Student Center. This shuttle loop runs every 12 minutes.

Saturday, Sept. 15Parking will not be available on this date for Fall Family Weekend guests. You will need to follow the parking guidelines provided by Clemson Athletics. Much of the parking on campus is reserved and not open to the general public. You can visit the Clemson Tigers Football website, clemsontigers.com, to see public parking options and look at interactive maps.

There are two general admission lots available on game day. These lots are C1 and the Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Center. Both of these lots are $25 per car. If paying in person, cash is the preferred method due to weakened cellular service on game day. Two paid lots are available with one-day permits, which are available for purchase in advance through the Parking and Transportation Services website: clemson.edu/parking. If you have a rental car, type "RENTAL" in the space for the vehicle license plate number.

ADA Parking and Shuttle (Sikes)If you need special assistance for parking and transportation to the game on game day, ADA parking will be available in the Sikes parking lot. An ADA shuttle will run from the Sikes parking lot to Memorial Stadium before and after the game. You must display your ADA placard to utilize this service.

Sunday, Sept. 16Parking will be available to Fall Family Weekend guests in the C1, C11, E1 and E15 lots on Sunday ofFamily Weekend.

Parking and Transportation Information Clemson Traditions

Clemson is known for our spirit. There is no way to make it through Fall Family Weekend without hearing the spirit of our students. Here are some of the cheers and chants you are sure to hear. We hope you will join in.

The Song That Shakes the SouthlandJoin in with the Tiger Band as they salute our players with the university’s fight song. Clap your hands along with the beat of “Tiger Rag” until it comes time to spell out CLEMSON. Pump your fist into the air with each letter — C-L-E-M-S-O — then move your right hand in a clockwise circle as you draw out the O with an extra beat, finishing the cheer with a hurrayed "N."

C-L-E-M-S-O-N Cadence CountThe cadence count dates back to Clemson’s military school days. Show your pride, and get any Tiger crowd riled up, by starting the cheer: C-L-E-M in cadence count! Tigers far and near will follow you with the roar: 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, C-L-E-M-S-O-N, T-I-G-E-R-S, FIGHT TIGERS, FIGHT TIGERS, FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

Alma Mater SaluteDuring Clemson’s early military days, first-year students wore “rat caps” and waved them in the air during every football game. Today, at the conclusion of singing Clemson’s alma mater, students and alumni still wave their hands in the air with thumbs folded underneath as though holding a cap.

Howard’s RockNamed for legendary Coach Frank Howard, the rock was brought to Clemson from Death Valley, California, by 1919 alumnus S.C. Jones. The rock was first placed on a pedestal at the top of “The Hill” on Sept. 24, 1966. Before a game against Wake Forest on Sept. 23, 1967, Howard told his players if they would give 110 percent, they could have the privilege of rubbing the rock. The Tigers won that game with a 23-6 victory. The white flint rock still sits at the top of “The Hill,” and Tiger Football players rub it for good luck before each home game.

Running Down “The Hill”Running down “The Hill” originally started out of practicality. Before the west stands were built, the football team dressed at Fike Field House and ran to the gate and down the hill onto the field. Today with the sound of “YOUR CLEMSON TIGERS,” a cannon fires, the band plays “Tiger Rag” and thousands of orange-clad fans cheer the moment the Tiger Football team runs down the grassy hill onto the field. This tradition has been dubbed “the most exciting 25 seconds in college football.”
