Delivering Flexible Solutions Message from the President During 2009, Tokheim’s market environment has been difficult, as it has been for many other businesses, with customers delaying a part of their investments for renewal of equipment. This has been more visible in the countries impacted the most by the international crisis, such as Spain, Ireland and Eastern European Countries. During this difficult period, Tokheim has been able to adapt and perform well. Our dispenser business reduced slightly in Europe, but overall a strong demand in China and several African countries partially compensated for the reduction in other Countries. The successes with BP Europe and Total Asia will hopefully contribute positively next year. Systems deliveries have also been slower this year, but the award by Shell for business in Sweden, Norway, Netherlands and Luxembourg will support and further drive our future business objectives. Service and construction business remained stable at constant scope. Overall, our revenue for the first six months (May to October 2009) has decreased by 3% compared to the same period last year at constant scope, but increased by 10% thanks to the effect of acquisitions. We expect that 2010 will be slightly better than 2009, especially in the second part of the year. Tokheim will continue with its strategic efforts throughout the company to further improve quality and efficiency and invest for continued growth. Dispensers will benefit more from globalisation of our engineering and production on a worldwide basis. Systems will expand in several European countries with EMV roll-out. Service will stay stable at constant scope. We will also benefit from the acquisition of a majority stake in 5 subsidiaries of Rohé (Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Lithuania and Latvia) and from the acquisition in progress to secure 100% of the shares in our Indian Joint Venture. I would like to thank you, our customers for the business you award us, your continued support and relationship. Many thanks also to our employees for their continued commitment; our consistent determination together with the high quality of our teams remain our key assets. On the 1st of October, Tokheim announced a partnership with Maestro that introduces a new pay processingsystem at Belgian petrol stations.

This cooperation ensures that Tokheim can now supply terminals to the market that fully comply withthe SEPA standards (Single Euro Payments Area). This means that the terminals meet the payment

requirements of tomorrow and demonstrates Tokheim’s commitment to future-proofing their retailsolutions.

One of the major benefits of the system is that it enables petrol station managers to acceptpayments with different debit cards and to work together with their preferred acquirer.

Tokheim introduces a range of innovative and scalable dispenser security technologies that offer excellentlevels of fuel theft protection. A range of systems is available to suit all budgetary and market requirements.

The entry-level solution provides a first and important level of security: • It protects Quantium fuel dispensers against unauthorized access by applying sensors to activate an alarm

and make the dispenser inoperable until reset; • The stand-alone nature of the system ensures retrofitting to Quantium T range dispensers is effortless;

• The integrated controller module offers a convenient interface in order to allow authorized dispenser access for service technicians and forecourt personnel.

In addition the system can be upgraded with additional functionalities in a later stage:

• Customers can select the level of security that suits the specific needs of their forecourt;

• The alarm and dispenser shut down functionality can be extended with remote monitoring and alert capabilities, which enables the site owners to take

appropriate action at an early stage; • And of course one can combine the above-mentioned proactive protections with

traditional solutions such as more robust and secure locks to prevent unauthorized opening of doors.Contact your local sales office for more details for fuel theft protection customization requests (www.tokheim.com, click 'AboutTokheim' and then 'Tokheim Worldwide’ to find your local Tokheim partner).

The site is equippedwith 2 Quantium 500 dispensers and 4 DITs (iQ 6000 + Titan pinpad). Each filling position has one integrated outdoor terminal. The station opened its doors on the 4th of November with the 4 outdoor terminals fully operational. The feedback from the marketplace has been hugely positive and should allow Tokheim Iberia to increase their systemmarket share in Portugal.

D e l i v e r i n g F l e x i b l e S o l u t i o n s

Could you tell us about your career?I joined Satam in 1969. My first position was in the Export division for retail petroleum and metering

equipment. At that time, I was based in France and used to travel 2 or 3 times every year to visit our subsidiariesin Africa and Europe. I was in charge of both sales and sales administration.

In 1985, I became Export Director for Europe, Africa and Middle-East, reporting directly to the President of the company. As the company expanded through acquisitions, I retained my position with slight changes relating to the areas i was

responsible for.I am now finishing my career at Tokheim as Sales Director for French speaking African countries and French territories.

As a woman in an industry and market mainly dominated by men, did you face many challenges? When I started my career, it was difficult to prove myself as a 25-year-old woman, especially in areas such as the Middle-

East and Africa. I used to carry a letter from the President enabling me to sign contracts, and I had to use this letter severaltimes to sell equipment in Egypt, Yemen, etc. Nowadays it’s easier, but I remember that at the beginning, some customerswere even trying to test me with detailed technical questions. As I knew the subject very well, they soon realised that I wasexperienced and knowledgeable, but most of the time I had to put my pride to one side.

Also, several times during my career, I was offered the opportunity to work abroadin a Subsidiary, but each time I had to refuse because I had a young daughterand I was an single mother. My parents helped me a lot bringing her up, especially when I was travelling. Working in a foreign country would have beenimpossible without the help of my family.

What did you like most about your job during these 40 years?During the 70s and the 80s, travelling to Africa and Middle-East was not as easyand cheap as today. So we used to make ‘round trips’ of 2 to 3 weeks and I remember having spent numerous weekends away from my family. As I was anauthorised nurse, I participated in vaccination campaigns in African countries andMadagascar, mainly financed by one of our customers, an oil company. I wasmember of a Non-Governmental Organisation “Aide à l’Enfance africaine” (HelpAfrican Children) of which I have been President and Vice-President. There is one particular thing that I remember. When I was in Burkina Faso, ayoung boy riding a solex bike was staring at me. He told me: “Remember me,I have been adopted by a French family thanks to you!” and he gave me hismusical instrument. I was very touched, but did not accept it as he needed it

more than me. He was one of the children I had vaccinated and who I had subsequently told about to a French family ofexpats working for an oil company, that were seeking to adopt a child in Africa. Also, I have good memories of my travels with the French government, as Counsellor for International Commerce. Thatgreatly helped establishing Tokheim’s reputation in many countries. There are also things that I disliked during my travels. Facing poverty and violence is not easy…

What are your plans now that you are handing over your responsibilities?Last year, we have acquired, together with my daughter and my son-in-law, an abbey of the 12th century (partlyre-designed during the 16th century) in the South of France, near Béziers, and we are going to use it as a gîte. In

addition, we have vinegrapes and fruits – apples, apricots, oranges. My son-in-law is training in oenology andmy daughter is managing the gîte and the shop where we sell local products (fruit juice, wine, jam, etc.).

So, I will now spend my time helping them and enjoying my time with my 3 year-old grand-daughter. I willalso spend more time with my old parents who live in Viarmes, near Paris, where I keep my main house.

I would like to thank Tokheim to have offered me such an outstanding international career that allowedme to travel around the globe and discover many different cultures and religions.

We thank Evelyne for all she has done for Tokheim, and we wish her Joy and Success inher future life.

Recently Tokheim installed pilot dispensers with TQC-VGA at BP Lower Earley in the UK, and at Vissers Olie inthe Netherlands. Both installations and subsequent operations have gone smoothly. The site owners are very enthusiastic about a number of key features including the screen lay-out, user interface handling, screen read-ability, and most of all the multi-media features. One of the features that proved most popular was the fact thatthey can install their own proprietary media files with convenience store articles or advertising of local retailers- making it unique compared to conventional dispensers.

According to the Fraser Brothers in Lower Early: “Since installing the equipment we have seen a great increasein the use of Ultimate grade fuels and car wash sales. This is contributed by our advertising media displayed onthe screens. The screens are really big and the customers like the large sales figures and interesting media displayed.”

The TQC platform is packed with features such as fraud detection, software download, and remote diagnostics.Furthermore it has a broad extended on-board functionality like automatic temperature compensation, vapour recovery, Ethernet and Unit Price Display.

Alongside standard multimedia functionality, the TQC-VGA provides a comprehensive range of additional benefitsincluding:

• Brand promotion, Product promotion,

• Dynamic product and pump number indication,

• Customer convenience and safety through event related instructions and warnings,

• Volume, amount and price in very large character sizes,

• Upgrade path to incorporate media communication features,

• Customizable screen content and graphics (i.e. corporate style).

The reconstruction of 60 sites at Energopetrol owned by INA/MOL is well under way. 12 sites have been fully redeveloped with new Quantium Q500T dispensers and/or TokheimSpectra dispensers retrofitted to IFSF/LON protocol.

All sites will be equipped with Fuel POS forecourt controllers including the Tokheim tanklevel gauge option.

Energopetrol possesses a strong market position, and will now operate INA Bosnia whichwas operating independently in the past. This opens new possibilities to extend the successfulpartnership with Tokheim.

Distributor Sekom, based in Zagreb – Croatia, is Tokheim’s company of choice for 2nd and3rd level Call Centre. Sekom operates in Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and opened a newbranch office in Sarajevo early this year. Tokheim’s Fuel POS combined with Sekom’s localknowledge and expertise provides customers with a wide range of choice and flexibility.

Tokheim’s Regional Sales Director, Erik Stoits, explains: “Not only are we able to deliver unified and professional software solutions focused on large station networks, but we canalso provide tailor-made customer solutions for smaller networks. We also provide a rangeof services tailored towards the needs of independents – this wide range of possibilities isTokheim’s strength.”

Tomislav Sekusak, Managing Director of Sekom, says: “Teaming with Tokheim has not onlyimproved our technical know how, it also helped us maximize our marketing reach, whichintroduced scalable IT solutions for oil industry in three countries. With the help of Tokheim,Sekom can now focus on giving our customers additional care and value.”
